Java Programming Part II - The Digital Arts Experience
This course assumes basic knowledge of Java and applies it to the Processing environment. This allows students to use Java to express themselves in a more creative format with easy-to-use graphical capabilities. Students can choose to either make artistic projects with a narrative or an interactive game. This class will help grow the students understanding of Java, as well as how to incorporate new libraries and methods. It will challenge the students to be inventive with not only how to solve problems, but also with the creative direction of their projects. All activities this week will revolve around sports. We will allow the children to select several sport related activities to participate in each day. Harry Potter - Enter the exciting, magical world of Hogwarts! Join Harry, Ron, and Hermione in fantastic adventures! Spell creations, magic wands, and more! Students will explore scenes from Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone while also getting to meet new and original characters after Harrys time in the future Hogwarts! The Art and Science of Photography - Sycamore School
Instructor: Lauren Ditchley -- During this camp photographers explore the medium of photography in many forms. We will experiment with traditional methods of image making - Cyanotype prints, pinhole photography, black and white darkroom, as well as current techniques in digital photography and photoshop editing. It would be helpful for students to have a point and shoot digital camera to use during this camp. This does not need to be an expensive camera, just something you might already own. 317-202-2500

Landscapes in Fabric - Bonnie Langenfeld
Learn to turn your favorite photos into artful fabric landscapes. In this class you will create a realistic fabric landscape by choosing appropriate fabrics and making free-motion machine stitches. You will be taught how to make patterns for your picture, learn many artistic points, learn how to stitch picture details, receive a reference booklet and plenty of individual help. After taking this class you will have a completed, or nearly completed fabric landscape! Students must bring their own sewing machine (for the second and third sessions) and have a basic ability to use the free-motion mode. Be sure your machine is in great working condition. No painting is involved, but you will be an artist with just fabric and thread! Supply list: • Your photo • A black and white copy of the photo enlarged to the size you wish to make in fabric. • Scissors for paper • Pen or fine tipped marker • Tracing paper • Optional: Fabrics you may use, but you will learn about fabric choice and know more clearly what to use after the first session • NOTE: at the first session you will learn what other supplies you will need, such as stabilizer, kinds... 239-939-2787
