The most appropriate camp option for an 8 year old girl is a day camp program. Day camps are offered by local community centers, schools, youth groups, and some times by the local sports or arts centers. An 8 year old girl would really enjoy a program that provides a good combination of creative arts classes, like pottery, drawing, and active workshops, like yoga and dance. You also want to make sure that she gets exposure to some team sports and swimming, as these activities develop very important skills for her development....

Pre-teen Improv Summer Camp (Session 3) - Norfolk, VA
This camp is open to children ages 7 to 12. Students will explore the key elements of both long and short form improvisation. The children will play numerous improv games which will serve to develop and enhance their public-speaking, social, and team-building skills. This camp will be conducted in a non-judgmental environment where the students will build confidence, make friends, and most importantly… have fun. Snacks will be provided on a daily basis and there will be a pizza-party for lunch on Friday. The camp concludes on Saturday with all students performing in a graduation show on the stage of the Push Comedy Theater. Each student will receive a Push Comedy Theater T-shirt and be eligible to perform in the 5th Annual Norfolk Comedy Festival in late September 2016. We will have 3 sessions throughout the summer. Session1: July 11th - 15th, 9:30am to noon Session 2: August 1st - 5th, 9:30 to noon Session 3: August 22nd - 26th, 9:30 to noon These are all beginner level sessions, no experience is necessary. Tution is $200 for new students (includes a t-shirt), $190 for returning students.

Ages 13-15 The Teen Art Camp is geared towards the mature aspiring artist with a desire to explore a variety of art media and techniques. Led by instructors specializing in teens, students will be inspired and guided through an appealing array of creative projects including landscape painting, portraiture, wheel thrown pottery, digital imaging using Photoshop®, mixed media collages and more. Projects vary on a weekly basis so teen artists can explore a variety of media.

Hey Friends all work and these Adult camps posts has me wanting to go to camp. PROBLEM: No adult camp in SF area (aside from a digital detox hippy thing) SOLUTION: Organize One. If we get enough interest will make it happen, will decide in 1 week. Need like 200+ Yes's and I will get the wheels in motion. CONCEPT: Adult Summer Camp All the fun + the booze Think meeting new people, activities like swimming,canoeing, rock wall, sports, slip n slide flip cup, arts crafts, cooking class, and etc. Broken into teams, olympics style, dancing under stars all night, talent show, etc. Was inspired by Camp No Counselors check it out to get an idea - https://vimeo.com/99644036 It'd be $299 - 349 estimated PP for transport, accommodation, catered food, activities + TShirt ;) + OPEN BAR all 3 Days. Staff will pick up campers from your car at 8:00 AM and deliver back to your car at 4:00 PM. Tennis Camp - The Derryfield School
A week of tennis instruction, practice, games, and activities for intermediate to advanced tennis players. Players will receive individual instruction which will be reinforced by match play later in the morning. We will focus on stroke mechanics, playing strategies, and conditioning. Each student will have his/her strokes videotaped and analyzed during the session. The instruction is led by Mike Leary, a USPTA certified professional and high-school coach. (603) 721-1327
Swim, Tennis and Flag Football Camp - Community Services Department - City of Palo Alto
Please sign up early for our popular tennis, flag football & swim camps held at Palo Altos Rinconada Park and Pool. Participants start each day with a tennis lesson 10-11:30am from the staff of Tennis program. Following tennis, the participates will eat with swim staff to eat from 11;30 am until 12:30 pm in the Rinconada Park. Following lunch the participates will head out to the field to engage in flag football from 12:30-2:30 pm with the Skyhawks coaching staff. After Skyhawks flag football, the participants will head over to the Rinconada Pool where they will enjoy swimming lessons, water games and be supervised by our lifeguards. Cost includes tennis lessons, soccer lessons, entrance to recreation swim, and supervision. Participants should bring a bag lunch, tennis racket, bathing suit, sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a towel each day. Ages 8-12. Pre and Post Care will be available before and after this camp.
