Held in Computer Lab. Through fun, hands-on and engaging science, engineering, and design technology, students learn how the world works, how buildings stand up, how machines move, and how people design, make and use technology. Projects are different for fall, winter and spring sessions and do not repeat. Using a wide assortment of curriculum materials, including KNEX, Keva Planks, Lego WeDo Robotics, Snap Circuits, and hands-on building projects, students construct machines; program robots, build gadgets, gizmos, structures and vehicles, and assemble electronics such as a radio or flying saucer. Through these integrated STEAM projects, students gain problem-solving skills; develop spatial awareness and a basic understanding of physics, gravity, electricity, energy, design, and robotics. STEAM= (science, technology, engineering, art, math). Craig Ranch Sports Camp Week 1 - Cooper Fitness Center at Craig Ranch
This camp is a joint venture between Cooper Fitness Center at Craig Ranch and the TPC at Craig Ranch. Brad Ott will utilize his 20+ years of golf training experience to teach children ages 7-16 the basics of golf. Fundamental learning will focus on full-swing (wedges, irons, and woods) and short game (putting, chipping, pitching, and bunker play). Campers will then move on to tennis under the guidance of Head Tennis Pro, Andrew Kaikai and his assistant. This class will lead players in drills to help their general strokes. This class is designed to introduce beginners to the game and improve playing ability through drills, activities, and fun games. After lunch, the campers will jump in Coopers Olympic-sized pool under the direction of Head Swim Pro, Patrick Kennedy and Swim Coach, Mike Howes. This class will serve as an introduction to teach your child the fundamentals or swimming through drills, activities, and fun games. Take Level 1 in one week! Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday In this class you are introduced to all the fundamental skills of improvising, while improving your ability to listen and explore the power of building off of other peoples ideas. Level 1 is a survey of the entire program, exposing you to the elements of scene work and the various skills involved in creating well-acted, comedic improvisation. Passing Criteria: Students must demonstrate that their listening has improved over the course of the term and that they are willing to build off of their partners ideas, in addition to having gained some proficiency with the technical aspects of actually doing so on stage.
