Wilderness Survivors Side of the Mountain youth camp, plus the adult W
Youth Wilderness Survivors Side of the Mountain camp description & registration Info: http://www.wolfcollege.com/youth/summer-overnight-camps/wilderness-survivors-side-of-the-mountain/ Adult Wilderness Survival Training & Trek description and registration Info: http://www.wolfcollege.com/expeditions/summer/wilderness-survival-training-and-trek/ Wilderness Survival has become synonymous with the over-dramatized survival programs on television. While some of these programs do provide valuable advice, most of them are filled with poor choices that, if followed, will get you injured or killed in a real emergency. Without proper training, separating the fact from fiction can be a difficult task. Our primary focus this week is to teach participants the practical skills that will save them in a true emergency. While a number of Traditional Skills will be introduced, our goal this week is to provide participants with a pragmatic skill set. For instance, spending five hours building a lean-to when it gets dark in 20 minutes is not a practical choice. Trying to build a bow-drill fire kit from scratch without a knife and without properly seasoned wood in the damp environment of the Pacific Northwest is rarely practical. Although those types of skills will be demonstrated, we will challenge you to perfect the basics first – like carrying a small fire steel and a couple of cotton balls...

We need a count for food, games and supplies so please reserve your spot soon. Pick up the easy to read book from Pastor DeVuyst to read ahead. Don’t let reading the book keep you from attending the retreat. Pastor Larry is looking for appropriate movies where love overcomes adversity. If you have a recommendations please let us know. We will leave from WPC Saturday at 9 am and return Monday by noon. The cost of the retreat is less than half of the cost to us for...
