DETAILS StoryStars is designed to help children take an interest in books and literature at an early age. With our enjoyable and fun themes each week, children see how exciting reading can be! Each week will focus on age-appropriate literary skills while incorporating art, science, math and cooperative learning into the lessons. We will add to our Word Wall each week and children can continue to practice these skills at home with the provided materials. Every child can learn to love stories, and our theme, as always, is Having Fun…One Book at a Time! March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 31st 9:30am – 12:00pm Ages: 3-5 March 3rd Frances doesnt like bedtime! Join local DMV native and star Miami Dolphins linebacker Jelani Jenkins for the ultimate kids football camp this summer. The camp will be hosted by Jenkins and ten NFL Players from around the league. The non-padded, light contact camp aims to improve youth football IQ through position-specific techniques, fundamentals and skills development. The two-day camp is for 5th grade through rising ninth grade boys and girls, and promotes healthy activity, exercise and teamwork. Know any kids who would love to attend? Students will learn how to play basic drum, guitar, bass and piano riffs to various lyric-appropriate (parent-approved) rock/pop songs of their choice. Classes will include ear training, learning to read music notation, instrumental techniques, viewing music video clips for inspiration, and more! No experience necessary, but welcomed! Instruments will be provided to share, but bring any that you have from home. Time will be allotted each day for a snack and water break. A short performance will take place on Friday at the end of class from 11:40-Noon where students will have the opportunity to sing and/or play different instruments for the songs we have been developing throughout the week. 20% sibling discount. Let us introduce your child to the wonders of the bay area! Students learn about plants, animals, and ecosystems that are found in their own back yards! Each day focuses on a specific topic, such as marine mammals, marine birds, invertebrates, fish, and the marine environment. Students will explore the different environments on campus, search for dolphins and manatees in the waters adjacent to Eckerd College, identify birds and other creatures they see, get acquainted with critters in our touch tank and learn specifics in the classroom through discussions, presentations, and crafts. 727-864-8288
