All classes will be held in the main facility at the Albany Boys and Girls Club. Both days will run from 8:00am - 3:00pm. This give LOTS of time for parents to get some stuff done while we entertain your kiddos! Classes will be split up by level and experience so that everyone is in a class they are comfortable with. In this class, guided by GMLS art teacher Victoria Polyak, students will explore various art forms - drawing, painting, printmaking, cartooning, and sculpture. Children will learn about composition, value, color and will create a beautiful portfolio of artworks to treasure. This class includes all art supplies! Camp Collegiate Session 8 3rd-8th grades - Wichita Collegiate School
Instructor: Hawley Session 8: Crime Busters Camp. Camp Collegiate is a fast-paced, fun-based learning experience that is meant to make summer days fly by with fun activities. Boys and girls in third through eighth grade spend their days with friends and counselors doing all of the typical camp things: swimming, cooking out on a camp fire, canoe trips, arts and crafts, having treats, horseback riding, games … and a lot of not-so-traditional things: feeding and caring for snakes and hamsters; studying ecosystems and astronomy; competing in science challenges; building woodworking and electronics projects. Fun off-campus trips will include canoeing down the Fall River, visiting the Oklahoma salt flats, going to Laser Quest, the Alley, Ice Skating, Tanganyika, the Sedgwick Co. Zoo, and All-Star Adventures. Kids often say that great memories are made in this camp and its one of the best parts of their summer! The Rush (USASF Levels 1 ) are our Tiny team, consisting of minature athletes ages 6 and younger. This team gives the little ones a chance to get out in front of a crowd and perform their routine. Skills focused on are basic but incorporate the full spectrum of competitive cheerleading. We may not be the most exciting team to watch but definately the cutest. The Kidn Me camps are designed for children from age 5 -18 and a parent or caregiver. This class will cover the basics of simple bead stringing. You will learn to make earrings using wire head pins, beads and pre-made earring hooks. You will design a simple bracelet and learn to finish it with crimp beads and a clasp. Simple necklace styles will be presented and you will design and finish one with your choice of clasp!
