LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Woodworking Camp - Germantown Friends School
Young carpenters will enjoy a safe way to practice woodworking as they design and build a different project each week. Under the direction of lifelong woodworker and GFS teacher Edmund Livingstone, campers will work individually and collaboratively to plan, measure, cut, build and decorate their projects using wood, paper, nails, rubber bands, and imagination! Their finished products will be works of wonder and awe. Students will incorporate measuring, drilling holes, and strategically positioning their nails in each unique project. They then will customize their creations with arts and crafts. Safety and proper use of protective eyewear will be stressed at all times. This is a great beginning woodworking class for students to learn to use tools and, more importantly, to develop a lifelong love of working with their hands! Woodworking is a morning-only camp and participants may wish to stay for either Ceramics, Mandarin II -Golden Dragons Camp, or the Explorers Day Camp during the afternoon session. Kid's Night Out - Camp Out Friday, January 20, 5:00-8:00 Suggested Ages: 3-9 (drop off) $45 ($35 for each additional sibling) Send the kids to camp out at TLGT. Extra Pointers Football Camp 1 (Grades 6-12) - WWP North Athletic Camp
Extra Pointers Kicking, Punting & Specialists Football Camp (Grades 6 - 12) The goal of this camp is to make athletes into solid, competent performers. Camp will expose kickers, punters, holders, and snappers to all aspects of their respective positions: mechanics, technique, game-situation, mental preparedness, and physical training. Campers receive an Extra pointers t-shirt, a printed technique guide by position, and video evaluation. For students interested in attending both Extra pointers camps, June 21-23 & Aug. 2-4 they will receive $50 off the cost of the two camps but must register for the "combo" camp to receive discount.
