The Dance Academy Designed to serve the needs of the committed and focused student, 4 to 18 years old, who is seeking to expand their dance vocabulary and dramatically improve their technique. The Academy is calling you! With an emphasis on Classical Ballet and Modern Dance, the Academy students follow a schedule designed by the directors that will also include, depending on level, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and African Dance. Voice, and Art classes are also offered in rotation. Multi-day training and a comprehensive vocabulary are necessary for any artist to achieve success in the dance world. Compare this with the world of Sports: Kobe, LeBron, Jordan, and all of the Gods of Basketball train every day. We have also seen remarkable results in academic achievement as a result of the character education dance training instills. Young people of NCA learn to manage their time. My 5 year old daughter loved Camp Galileo. Since they group children by ages, she got to meet other children with similar interests. She was having so much fun she didn’t realize she was also learning about science and art. My 9 year old son enjoyed the outdoor activities. His favorite game was playing Star Wars tag. Early Reader Program - Valle Verde Elementary
Classroom: D-8 Instructor: Active Reading Center () This reading class is designed for first and second grade students who have difficulty learning to read in traditional environments. We utilize play activities that help emerging readers learn letter sounds, and blend those sounds into words. All teaching is done by trained teachers from the Active Reading Center. A brief evaluation of each students abilities will be provided at the end of the session. Students may be recommended for work with a reading teacher on a one-on-one basis. CLAY ART CAMP: SEA WORLD - Ben Robertson Community Center
Join us for a fun week of imagination and creative travels to sea world! Campers will create a star fish bowl and unique wall art using multiple pottery techniques including coil, pinch and slab methods. Explore a new media and create one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Campers will get to experience using a pottery wheel on the last day of camp. Materials: A separate fee of $25 is payable to the instructor on the first day of camp for art materials, clay, glazes and kiln supplies. Campers should bring a snack and water each day. Rec Sports Summer Fun Camp: Day camp with an emphasis on traditional sports games and outdoor recreation activities including individual sports, team sports, hiking, kayaking, and camping skills. * All camps run from 9am-1pm and are geared for children ages 5 through 10.
