LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Summer Daze Theater Camp - Hickory Lodge
This two week, high-energy camp is for children who love drama and the arts and who are looking to build their creativity, confidence, self-esteem and leadership skills through the performing arts. The two-week camp concludes with ?An Evening of Entertainment" featuring a performance put on by the campers. Participants will learn about the many components of theater production, from costumes and makeup to set design and blocking. This camp meets at the Hickory Lodge, 1115 W. Sycamore. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Make sure your child (grade 1-6) is a part of this awesome summer. Guided by our American Red Cross Certified Staff, this summer promises to be one adventure after the other. Campers should bring a swimsuit and towel, sunscreen and bug spray, a water bottle and lunch everyday. Afternoon snack will be provided. Children should wear clothes that can get dirty and comfortable shoes that they can wear while running and hiking. Camp will run from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Hindi Lesson for Age 3-8 year-old - Henrys House
Give your child a head start by providing them the opportunity to learn a new language. Class sizes are very small (Maximum of 8) which allows us to adapt instruction to each childs personal learning needs. Every two to three weeks we have a new theme for instruction. Cultural holidays for specific target languages and major US holidays are included in the main teaching theme. Children learn basic conversation topics that are age appropriate. What sets Little Linguists apart is our individual approach and our culture-infused curriculum. Summer Arts Academy 5/6 - Oakwood
For children entering 5th or 6th grade: Each day, students will attend six periods with a fifteen-minute recess and snack after third period. They will attend four intellectually stimulating and fun-filled classes including: Brain Booster, Adventures in Art, Science Shakedown, and Fun and Fitness. For the remaining two periods, children may choose between On Stage, a performing arts class which spans two periods, or a Keyboarding and Wild About Writing option. Activities include: *A boat trip on the Indian River Lagoon *Seining *Setting up and maintaining aquaria *Area beach and park visits *Fishing *Cast netting *Various water activities *Snorkeling *Arts & Crafts *Games & relay races *Special Friday activities All teachers are state certified and camper/teacher ratio is 20/1.
