Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance and music. It was created in Brazil mainly by descendants of African slaves with Brazilian native influences. It is known by quick and complex moves, using mainly power, speed, and leverage for leg sweeps. Students work on physical coordination, group awareness, and communication. Students are recommended ( but not required) to take both the Monday and Thursday classes to get the most out of this program. Important Notice from UCAL: At the end of your registration process through the Active system, you will be offered a 30-day free trial of something called the Active Advantage program. Hey Kids! On Thursday, July 14 we're sponsoring a fun kid's day at Camp Clay. Admission is $2 and that includes admission to the aqua park and splash pad + FREE sunscreen station + FREE snacks + FREE bottled water. We'll also have a pool noodle obstacle course set up for you to try. If you complete it, you can get your name on the leader board and be eligible to win cool prizes!

This highly charged camp will make your hair stand on end! Join us to explore physics and chemistry. Well be building, breaking, floating and squishing all sorts of contraptions and gooey concoctions. Pre and Post Camp are available - see our Pre and Post Camp section. Activities are the same each week during the summer. Camp projects change from year to year, but we do repeat many favorite projects. Use the grade your child JUST COMPLETED in the spring as his/her grade for camp registration. AGE LEVEL REQUIREMENTS STRICTLY ENFORCED. Hideout Theatre Improv Camp - Post Camp - Week 1 - JCC Campus
Improv Camp is the perfect place for the budding comedian, drama queen, or hilarious ham. We have a blast playing improv games, learning how to tell stories on the stage, and creating fabulous scenes. In the end, we take all of this and show it off in a final performance. This camp creates a fun and supportive environment for kids to learn the basics of creating improv, storytelling, and stagecraft. The curriculum is taught through games, play, and improvised stories. Robots, Gagets, Gizmos - Winter - Adams Elementary
Held in Computer Lab. Through fun, hands-on and engaging science, engineering, and design technology, students learn how the world works, how buildings stand up, how machines move, and how people design, make and use technology. Projects are different for fall, winter and spring sessions and do not repeat. Using a wide assortment of curriculum materials, including KNEX, Keva Planks, Lego WeDo Robotics, Snap Circuits, and hands-on building projects, students construct machines; program robots, build gadgets, gizmos, structures and vehicles, and assemble electronics such as a radio or flying saucer. Through these integrated STEAM projects, students gain problem-solving skills; develop spatial awareness and a basic understanding of physics, gravity, electricity, energy, design, and robotics. STEAM= (science, technology, engineering, art, math). • Beginner level • Technique focus • Instructors: Jennie Godfrey • Class length: 1 hour • Semester Long • Class cost: $365 (plus $25 registration fee) For students with little to no previous musical theatre experience and who have already begun elementary school. Students will learn basic choreography, vocal performance, and stage presence skills.
