JUMP START SPORTS- LACROSSE CAMP (FULL-DAY) - Ben Robertson Community Center
Get ready to learn all about the fastest growing sport in the United States! Lacrosse has elements of soccer, football, basketball and hockey. Once you try lacrosse, youll love it! All equipment will be provided in this highly instructional program. Campers will receive training on all fundamentals, including passing and catching; fielding ground balls, cradling, spacing, positioning, and defense. Plastic sticks and soft balls will be used which eliminates the need for helmets and shoulder pads. No checking, stick checking, or poking will be permitted! Join anytime during the week (fee will be pro-rated). Multi-Camp Discount: Register for two or more full-day Jump Start Sports Camps and receive a $15 discount off the registration fee for the second and each subsequent camp. Supplies: Campers should bring a packed lunch with a beverage, snacks and plenty of water each day. All campers should arrive at camp with sunscreen already applied, as well as with additional sunscreen, as needed. We recommend a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. A great prep for Summer 2016. Campers in grades 6 - 12 will have the opportunity to enjoy many of the traditional summer activities such as hiking, Bible Study and Small Groups, campfires with SMORES, and other camp games. Camp Apollo - Rock Terrace School
Elementary school youth within the autism spectrum. Activities for campers include coloring and painting, musical games, playground fun, swimming twice a week and local field trips. Quiet time, low lighting and sensory activities will be used as a transition from ESY to camp. Depending on skill levels, campers will be divided into two groups during some activities. To be successful, must be able to follow one/two step directions, ability to manage their behavior and be able to make simple choices. Campers must exhibit ability for self care with limited assistance with changing or prompting using bathroom. Staff ratio: 1 staff/4 participants. TRANSPORTATION : If attending ESY, contact your teens school to arrange transportation to camp. Beginner WeDo LEGO Robotics - Club Scientific Lab
Join us for this 4 week session featuring the LEGO WeDo Robotics kit! This session is designed for students who are brand new to WeDo as well as those who have participated in previous sessions this year. Students will be able to build LEGO models featuring working motors and sensors; program their models; and explore a series of cross-curricular, theme-based activities while developing their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
