This FREE community event and backpack giveaway promotes health nutrition & wellness gearing kids up for back to school by stimulating their minds and bodies to grow and effect our community in a positive way and teaching them how to make the right decisions with their body so they can make great decisions in the classroom. This class is an introduction to building and programming robots using the LEGO Mindstorm NXT software and Technic building pieces. Students will be able to build LEGO models featuring working motors and sensor; program their models; and explore a series of cross-circular, theme-based activities while developing their skills is science, technology and engineering. 818-591-6597

Elementary Stephens Session #2 (Females) - Camp Lake Stephens
The Stephens Session is a traditional camp experience for campers on the high end of the Autism spectrum or with mild developmental disabilities. Each camper in this session will have an individual counselor, and will stay in a cabin with 3 other campers and counselors. Campers will participate in all camp activities, including canoeing, games, arts and crafts, swimming, meals, and playing in the creek. HS Robotics with Arduino Week 3 - Merrill Engineering Building
A week-long camp for entering 10th, 11th, and 12th graders; or 9th graders who have taken a middle school camp. Campers will build and program machines that react to the world and to people using embedded computers, sensors, and motors based on the Arduino family of processors. This is a fun, engaging camp that doesnt need any prior experience, but uses "real" gear in creative ways. The Arduino system is used in the University of Utah undergraduate Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science courses, so this is a great way to see what goes on in those majors. This camp runs from 9AM-3PM, M-F. Some interest or aptitude in computers and/or building things is expected for this camp. Lunch is provided. 801-585-1726
