Engage Rotary Youth Day 2016 - Brandon, FL
A day of service, leadership development, learning, and lots of fun for youth of Rotary District 6890 (Interactors, RYLA participants, Rotary Youth Exchange Students, and Rotaractors) and any youth interested in learning more about Rotary. Get Started on Summer Reading 5 - The Prairie School
Have fun reading a required summer reading book in a group setting. With the use of a variety of reading strategies, the course covers the reading of Number the Stars Students are asked to purchase the novel prior to the first class. All students should read the first two chapters of the book they are assigned before June 20th. Additional reading at home will be required. Cool Skates - DC8 - Balboa Campus
Spin, glide, wiggle and swizzle! Each morning, take a bus from Balboa Campus to the San Diego Ice Skating Rink for a half-hour lesson and two hours of free skating time. Learn to play hockey if it interests you (also open to COV boys age 5-17). In the afternoon, return to camp for more activities, crafts, badge work and fun with friends. Showtunes: Sing and Dance (August 15) - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
One of the most difficult aspects of musical theatre is being able to sing and dance at the same time. This camp will help to develop this ability. Working hard to prepare a selection of show tunes for a live performance will give the campers quality experience and better prepare them to participate in musicals at school and in the community. Campers will perform in large and small groups while also allowing each child to take the spotlight with a singing or dance solo within the group numbers. This is an opportunity for your child to build a talent that many young performers struggle with. INSTRUCTOR MICHAEL PAGE has been teaching theater for 8 years and has been choreographing in local community theaters for the past 10 years. He recently received a BA in Theater and Dance from Christopher Newport University. He currently works as a Music and Movement Teacher at VHBC Preschool as well as teaches classes at LTA, Mount Vernon REC Center, and Browne Academy. He teaches private acting, dancing, and guitar lessons from his home. Cindy the Science Lady: Science Terrific I - Harding Cordova
Science Terrific I: In this lab class students will be introduced into how to do real science experiments. They will learn how to use real pipetts, beakers and graduated cylinders. They will do test for surface tension, density, and conductivity. Students will test different scientific principles each week including gravity and magnetism.
