Are you concerned that your child may develop a case of summer slide or think year round school is an intelligent idea? This two-week program will allow your child to prepare for success in the following school year. The course is taught by Sandra Schwartz, who holds a Bachelors in Education with a minor in Mathematics and an M.Ed., and has been working in the North Merrick UFSD since 2008. Sandra currently teaches Computer and Technology at Camp Avenue School. Students are invited to take part in a comprehensive class designed to sharpen their skills by offering an ideal balance of instruction in math and creative writing to assist students in mastering these subjects. Students practice their math skills and learn new ones while having fun by engaging in skill building and problem-solving math games and activities. In addition, students are challenged to expand their creative writing boundaries and strengthen their composition skills. If your children are bright and curious, like my 12 year old daughter, they will love this camp. Although boys and girls are welcomed at this camp, there are specific sessions just for girls. The reason is to encourage girls to specialize in formerly traditionally male occupations: science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). This 5 hour camp is all about shooting! Our shooting machine will be used to help develop your child shot. This camp is now open to ages 6-16 832-420-9619
Week 5 Western Horse Camp - Rose Lake Youth Camp
This new specialty camp offers horse safety, grooming, saddling and western style riding. Campers will learn basic riding instruction, how to take care of their horse and will learn riding skills in the arena along with wooded trail rides. This camp is held in partnership with Center Lake Bible Camp. Ages 10-13, limited to 8 campers. 231 768 4351

Get a taste of summer at our Spring Break Camp! Our camp counselors are dedicated to providing a safe and fun environment for children to interact, meet new friends and participate in exciting camp activities. Campers will spend their day at the park, playing dodgeball, creating art masterpieces and going down the waterslide at our pool. Join us for an exciting week of camp games, sports, swimming and more! Please bring a sack lunch, snacks, water, swim suit, towel and sunblock to camp daily. Come join the fun! Only need a day or two of camp? We take drop-ins! Drop-ins are dependent on space availability and are $45 per day. There are no sibling discounts for drop-ins. Please register for drop-in days through the Community Center office. Drop-ins for Before Care is $8 per day and After Care is $15 per day.
