I sent my 15 year old daughter to the 3 week session and she LOVED it. Which is amazing because my daughter is like many teenagers and is too cool for everything. After the deadly onslaught of Louie's Lieutentants last month, Fort Seymour appears to have picked up the pieces...but to what end and for how long? As a formal responce filters down from the heart of the empire, increased sanctions and military presence offer some townspeople peace of mind, but in the long run, the iron first of the Chancellor could do more harm than good. Will a few frightened colonists seek a tentative truce with a madman to the south, or will the masses stay the course and continue to focus their hoese northward to the abandoned site of Fort Columbia and the oppressive but burgeoning forces of the Iron Works? Pirate Day Camp for kids - Portland, OR
Kids day camp for Juy 11th, to July 15th, 2016 Ages first grade through age12. Camp runs Monday through Monday – to Fri - 9:30am to 3:30pm Before and after care are available for an additional fee - see details below. Camp must be pre-registered. There are no refunds however arrangements can be made to transfer registration to a different child. Our program is focused on teaching historical arts connected to the martial culture of Europe in the time of the 18th and 19th century. We teach history and real world skills related to the time of pirates and privateers. Learn the skills of sabre and cutlass Learn about European History and sailing culture Play pirate games Craft Projects and learn to tie knots learn sea shanties Camp takes place at our facility in West Portland. Children will train with lightweight sword simulators and safety gear. They will have the opportunity to handle steel replicas of the real thing. All under the supervision of our instructors. price $225.00 pre-paid. BEFORE AND AFTER CARE: Before care starts at 8:00 after care ends at 5:45 Kids in before and after care are welcome to work on activities provided during the camp, play board games, play pirate munchkin, use our library...
Teen Camp - Escondido, CA
Projected registration opening date: April 5, 2017 Teen Camp is open to all teens with or without previous experience with mindfulness, meditation, or camping. This is a special time for all teenagers–please come and join! During this retreat, we will come together as brothers and sisters to develop skills that help us learn to be alive in the present moment and to connect deeply with ourselves and others. When we learn to be mindful, a whole new world appears. Activities will include walking meditation, eating in mindfulness, participating in periods of noble silence, sitting meditation, dharma presentations, sharing in groups, Deep Relaxation Meditation, joyful service, games, and hiking. Other activities we may include are morning exercise, drinking tea meditation, and a performance night. We will stay in large tents (around 5 teens per tent). Teen girls will be assigned to a tent in Clarity Hamlet Oak Grove and teen boys to a tent in the Solidity Hamlet Campground. There will be monastic and lay staff members staying in both campgrounds. The monastery will provide tents, but we ask everyone to bring their own sleeping bags and sleeping mats. Participants are expected to attend the entire retreat and all activities. Learn how science is used to solve crime by using experimental techniques in a laboratory-based setting. Participants will analyze evidence such as hair, fibers, fingerprints, blood, and blood splatter. Death and decay, shoe impressions, handwriting, and ink analysis will also be studied.
