Camp Jr. Space Astronomer is designed for campers ages 6-8. Activities and experiments explore air and space travel, the Earth-Moon-Sun relationships, stars and galaxies. Special emphasis is placed on learning about the scientist related to an activity through Meet the Scientist and the science behind the activity through The Science Involved. The activities and experiments of each day at camp are arranged by scientific concept. Our camps are 9am-4pm with pre and post camp options available as well! This class will explore all the interesting ways to create with and use paper. Students will be getting their hands dirty making their own paper. They will create their own stencils, bind their own journals, and create Calder inspired mobiles. Little Stars - Musical Theatre - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
This camp is an introduction to musicals that allows campers to experience what its like to tell a story through music. We will tell stories through original songs based on common fairytales with each child getting an opportunity to have lines, sing, and dance. Campers will play fun theatre games that will help them get more comfortable in social situations through using their imagination and creativity. These young performers will get the unique experience of being able to perform on a stage. INSTRUCTOR MICHAEL PAGE has been teaching theater for 8 years and has been choreographing in local community theaters for the past 10 years. He recently received a BA in Theater and Dance from Christopher Newport University. He currently works as a Music and Movement Teacher at VHBC Preschool as well as teaches classes at LTA, Mount Vernon REC Center, and Browne Academy. He teaches private acting, dancing, and guitar lessons from his home.
