Horse Camp is for children ages 7 – 14 (by first day of camp session). This camp is the ideal setting to learn and discover all things horses! Horsemanship is emphasized by allowing campers to saddle their own horse, help care for their horse and learn all about horse health. Riders will be taught safety, comfort in the saddle and control of the horse. More experienced riders will be challenged through the week with pre-jumping skills, some gymnastic exercises and leg yielding. Each day, each group will have the opportunity to ride in the morning for approximately 30-45 minutes after spending time grooming and tacking up horses. When not participating in a riding lesson, they will learn about barn management and all things horse! In addition to riding and working with the horses, campers will have the opportunity to do archery, kayaking, hiking, field games, crafts and get wet with water games. Each afternoon, campers are provided an afternoon snack and each week a chance to make Smores. The week ends with Tye-Dye Friday for a take-home memory... 301-373-9775
