LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Advanced Comedy Camp 1 - Second City Training Center Chicago
The Second City Advanced Comedy Camp is a fully comprehensive program that dives deep into the skills required to present a Second City-style revue. Curriculum includes training in advanced scenework and long form improvisation as well as additional lessons in clowning, stand-up, and music improvisation. Students will also receive a special track jacket as a souvenir of their summer with Second City. Students will present their stand-up material on the second Friday of the program and a one-act sketch revue on the final day. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Students must submit the Advanced Comedy Camp application, a resume, headshot/photo, and a short essay to be considered for this program to Students will need to have completed at least two 14-week terms of improv training at Second City or at least two sessions in our summer camp program. Kid's Dance Camp | Ages 6 - 12 - Portland, OR
June 20 – July 1 | Mon – Fri Half Day: 9:00am – 12:00pm | Full Day: 9:00am – 4:00pm June 2016 will kick off our 8th annual Kid’s Dance Camp. Kid’s Camp at Polaris is designed for students ages 6-12 and offers a full or half day experience, Monday through Friday. Camp is a great way for kid’s to have fun while sampling all that Polaris Dance Theatre has to offer. A typical day at Kid’s Camp includes several dances classes of multiple disciplines including Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Aerial, Tap classes and more! Students also have the opportunity to express their own creativity through improv classes, games and a daily art project. End of camp performances will take place on both Fridays (6/24 & 6/31) at 11:30am and 3:30pm. Teen Sewing Camp: Staple Dress - Lake Charles, LA
The summer is the perfect time for your teen to learn how to sew clothes! The Staple Dress is a fun, beginner first clothing project. In this workshop, we will teach your teen how to read and cut a pattern, and sew a dress of their very own! A basic knowledge of sewing is required for this class. July 21st-22nd: 1pm-5pm (8 hours total) $65 includes pattern and elastic thread. Campers should bring fabric (see chart) and coordinating thread. Campers can bring a snack if desired. Ages 13 and up

Albany Gems Summer Youth Dance Camp - Albany, OR
The Gems are hosting their 2nd Annual Summer Dance Camp on July 16-17th, 2016. This is a two day camp for 1st - 8th grade dancers of all abilty and skill levels. All classes will be held in the main facility at the Albany Boys and Girls Club. Both days will run from 8:00am - 3:00pm. This give LOTS of time for parents to get some stuff done while we entertain your kiddos! Classes will be split up by level and experience so that everyone is in a class they are comfortable with. Classes will be divided into Mini, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. Class descriptions will be posted later in the comments. Dancers will stretch and warm up together, learn a entire camp dance, learn level appropriate dance routines, practice technical skills that apply to all dancers, and dancers will be given snack and lunch breaks both days. At the end of the second day (3:00pm) there will be a family and friends show so that your dancers can show you what they've been working on. This cooking camp is a fun and exciting way to spend summer. There will be two sessions: Session 1- June 22nd - July 3rd and Session 2 - July 6th - July 17th. Cooking Camp will be held at The Silver Spring International Middle School on Wayne Avenue from Monday through Friday, 9.30am - 1.30 pm. All students from grades 4-9 are welcome to register and enjoy this memorable experience. In these 2 week sessions, students will get started with the basics of cooking and gradually increase to more advanced skills.
