We focus on families whose children are currently on treatment; parents who need a night out, with safe, reliable, free babysitting! BASE Camp Kids ages 5-15; patients, and their siblings are included, and welcome to attend! Kirsten Casey is a local California Poet in the Schools, who has been teaching creative writing to students in the area for over ten years. She earned her Masters in Creative Writing from San Francisco State, and you can find her work in the anthology Yuba Flows, and her own book of poetry, Ex Vivo: Out of the Living Body. These 1 or 2 week sessions provide first time sailors aged 7-10 with the basics of sailing in a fun, safe and encouraging environment. Sailors will be using Prams, which are ideal for 2-3 sailors in 1 boat. Students will be taught the points of sail, basics of sailing upwind, downwind and between 2 points, along with sail trim, knot tying and general seamanship.
