Charly Cardboard Mini Camp - Gallatin, TN
School is out and Charly Cardboard is coming! This class will give the vision and skills to get students to begin the creative process of using something as simple as leftover cardboard into something artistic and maybe even practical. In two days - 4 hours per day - students will get hands on instruction and come out with a completed project like the one below. Lot's of fun. Visual artist and film maker David Wilson in collaboration with Actors Point Theatre Company will conduct this amazing class. Limited space available. Teen Script Writing & Directing Camp - Seattle, WA
This summer camp is for teens 13 - 17, who want to learn how to create a production ready short script. Students will be paired in groups of two and will work collaboratively in creating a shootable three to five page script. Students who participate in TheFilmSchool Camp will receive guaranteed admission into the SIFF Teen Production Camp (separate registration and fee through SIFF Education). Scripts from the TheFilmSchool Camp will be chosen for production in the SIFF Teen Production Camp and will be shot at Seattle Center. Date: August 15 - August 19. Bring your young adult to Creve Coeur Camera for a fun filled experience and learn photography from the Pros. 3 SESSIONS - 3 Hours each FEBRUARY 11, 18 & 25 Week One We will cover the basics of photography; exploring Olympus camera settings, Exposure fundamentals of ISO, shutter speed and aperture, Focusing techniques and composition rules. Week Two Practical applications of what you learning in the first week. We will have photo “sets” in the classroom for you to practice and Explore shutter and aperture (f-stop) techniques as you learn about the “appropriate” lighting on your subject. Week Three Learn the basics of Adobe Lightroom; the photo editing software the Professionals use and how to enhance your images. You will edit some Images and choose one favorite that we will print and hang in our “Photo Gallery”. It will stay on our wall for 30 days and then you can take it to display on your wall. This camp is designed to help 10-13 year old boys develop sound lacrosse fundamentals. Players will learn both individual skills and team concepts, starting with passing, catching and ground balls and advancing to shooting, dodging, and team concepts like defensive slides and offensive play. This special camp is designed for teens who want to get their hands into clay for 3 hours each day! Teens who have already participated in an Artworks Texas pottery class or workshop are welcome to attend this camp. Students who already have experience with clay will be involved in more advanced projects. Handbuilding is the oldest form of working with clay. Ancient techniques were used to create tools for everyday living, long before the invention of the pottery wheel. Students will explore many aspects of creating with clay off the wheel. Techniques such as coil, pinch pots & slabs will be used in combination to create work during the week. At the end of camp, all projects will be fired & ready for pickup in 2-3 weeks. As the children explore the animal kingdom, they will have a unique, hands-on experience enhanced by art, games and various projects related to these creatures. Kids will be up and about moving too! Where: NDP main gym About: NDP girls basketball camp teaches young players the fundamentals of the game. Those new to the sport will learn the skills of ball handling, shooting, passing, rebounding and defense, while more experienced players will be challenged to further develop their competency in those areas. While great focus is paid to individual skill work, ample time is devoted to a variety of competitions. Running the camp is NDP coach Kathleen Offer, who played collegiately at Yale and has coached in the Fighting Irish program for eight years. The entire staff, which includes current NDP girls basketball players and coaches, is dedicated to challenging the campers to the best of their ability while they have lots of fun with old and new friends. Please note our new cancellation policy. A 50% fee of the cost of the camp shall be applied to an individual who cancels.
