Brought to you by the C.A.R.E. Actor (creative awareness responsive education) program, comes alive as we act out storybooks and make our own costumes and props using a variety of art materials! In his camp, students will experience how the theater arts and fine arts go hand in hand while discussing topics such as respect, kindness, and peace through storybooks. This class will have a final presentation on the last day of camp. Come join us this summer! Kid's Summer Yoga Camp - Canby, OR
Balance and Harmony is happy to announce our first summer yoga camp for children ages 3-5. This camp will introduce your child to basic yoga poses and breathing exercises through story, songs and games. Each class will also include a creative activity that reinforces our yoga practice. Children will bring a packed snack and we will enjoy time outside at Wait Park. Taught by Sherry Wolfson. Sherry holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a 200 hour Yoga Teaching Certificate. She began teaching preschool and special education over 30 years ago and has taught yoga to preschoolers at Childswork Learning Center in Portalnd for the past 3 years. Classes will be held for 5 weeks (July 1st - 29th) on Wednesdays from 1:00-4:00. Fee-$150 for all 5 days. Adapted Bike Camp - Forsythe Middle School
This summer, LightUp is pleased to be partnering with the Ann Arbor Public School Recreation & Education Department to bring an exciting new bike camp to Ann Arbor. This camp gives individuals with special needs the thrill of independently riding a two-wheel bicycle. Developed by iCan Shine Inc., this program is offered through a 5-day summer camp. Camp runs during the week of June 27th for 75 minutes per day, there are 5 sections of camp to choose from. Monday- Friday , 75 minutes per day. This summers (2016) camp is geared specifically to the needs of youth diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. To apply, complete an application with the Ann Arbor Public School Recreation and Education Department. Marinwoods camp for middle school students mixes the skills taught in babysitter training with the fun of camp! Campers will learn basic child care, the business of babysitting, become certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid, and receive an American Red Cross Babysitter Training Certificate. They will also practice cooking skills, learn kid-friendly games, go swimming and have the opportunity to work with our youngest camps. This week will leave campers with the confidence and knowledge to start taking care of little ones! Camp fee includes babysitter handbook & certificate and First Aid/CPR certification.
