But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 God's people will never be perfect this side of heaven (Romans 3:9-12). Nevertheless, we are called to be holy because God is holy (Leviticus 11:44)... which sounds impossible. But the word "holiness" in Hebrew literally means "set-apartness." God isn't demanding impossible perfection. He calls every believer to live as uniquely separate (Leviticus 20:26), devoted to Him (1 Kings 8:53) and completely different from the world (1 Peter 1:13-16). It should be obvious to anyone who sees us that we are set apart (John 15:5-8). Jesus came to break our sin cycle and restore humanity's connection with our Creator God (2 Corinthians 5:19-21). Placing saving faith in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ's death on the cross justifies us before God (Romans 5:6-11). That incredible forgiveness and grace compels the true disciple toward righteousness, walking in God's ways not because we earn His grace, but because our love and thanksgiving manifests itself as obedience (1 John 5:1-5). We are planning a weekend where we can come alongside each other as student and speak and grow in our faith together. This is a time of unity for our area, we want to be closer than ever before to friends in our area displaying the love of Christ. So we we will be partnering in this retreat with Badger CRU from Madison in our larger group meetings! The early childhood ballet class is designed to provide young students in grades K-2 the basic foundation for their dance education. This class welcomes beginners and will cover the fundamentals of classical ballet technique and etiquette. The important of strength, flexibility, rhythm, musicality, and memorization will be stressed. Students will work at a traditional barre, learn combinations in the center, and dance gracefully across the floor - the universal foundation for the training of a ballet dancer. Campers will learn about passing, trapping, shooting, dribbling, and gain a better understanding of the correct terminology and rules of the game of soccer. Participants should also bring sneakers for the FHS gym in case of inclement weather. Our younger campers will start their day at Cipriani School with camp activities and a healthy snack, followed by a trip to the Belmont Library playground in our Footsteps vans and school buses for outdoor activities and lunch. The afternoon includes a 1/2 hour swim lesson and 1 - 2 hour recreational swim. After swimming, campers head back to Cipriani for snack and afternoon activities.
