My teenage daughter has a lot of fun at this camp. She enjoys spending time talking to the camp counselors, canoeing, hiking, swimming, archery and climbing the rock wall. The Coaches at Functional Effect are excited to announce registration has officially opened, and a limited number of spots are available, for our Youth Athletic Development Camps. 2 Camps Available! *Ages 8-12 - start 6/14 *Ages 13-18 - start 6/13 Our athletic development camps are designed to help your student-athlete build skills to help them both on and off the court. Our 8-12 group will have an emphasis on basic movement pattern development, and SAQ (speed, agility, quickness) Training, while the 13-18 group will also dive into proper lifting technique and strength and explosive power development. Both groups will also receive education on how to maximize their results during camp through good nutiriton! Students will enjoy skill-based instruction in tap, musical theater, and hip hop from professional dance teachers as they do their morning rotations. After a time of worship, Bible study, and small group time, each day will end with a full company production number rehearsal. The camp will take place at Groove Nation West with three different mirrored studio instruction rooms for optimum learning, and the performance on the Mago Hunt stage at the University of Portland campus. Soccer Camp - Fun in the Sun! - Jack Jackter Intermediate School
The focus for the young ones is fun and exciting games to build confidence and teach the fundamentals of soccer. Players cover ball familiarization, small group dynamics, coordination skills and social interaction, all with maximum participation in a fun oriented environment. The program lasts 3 hours a day for 5 days. Each child receives a t-shirt and certificate at the end of the week! 2016 Jr High Fantasy Camp - Cal State Fullerton Titan Stadium
This is an opportunity for junior high school soccer players to experience the life of a Division 1 soccer player. Campers will be given the opportunity to train with Division 1 athletes and coaches. They will be put through a typical pre-season training camp that collegiate athletes experience at the beginning of every season. Campers will be sleeping in the collegiate dorms under the supervision of the camp directors, camp coaches and current Cal State Fullerton women soccer players. They will eat in the cafeteria, train twice or three times daily and be provided official Fullerton Soccer training gear. They will eat, sleep, and play soccer for 4 days straight! Oh yeah and have a little bit of fun while they are doing it! Ages: Girls and Boys Entering Grades 7 - 9 Dates: June 27 – July 1 Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Format: One-week session designed around challenging activities Location: Laurels Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights Tuition: $360/session Cabinets of curiosity, also known as wonder rooms, were collections of extraordinary objects used to categorize the world and tell stories about its oddities. In this class, we will create a wonder room by investigating several of the many ways in which science and art intersect. By highlighting the overlap between art and science, we will gain a better understanding of each, as well as a new appreciation for how art can play a role in scientific processes and how science can inform and facilitate the creation of visual art. Topics of exploration may include: • Gyotaku/fish printing • Biological illustration • Kinetic sculpture • Cyanotyping/solar prints • The golden ratio and biomimicry • Using bacteria as paint • Nature journaling and the history of collecting 216-455-0154
