I was eager to enroll at Camp Newaygo for one important reason: we could all share the summer fun as a family. Sure it's important for the kids to have their own time but when we can make memories (and plenty of crafts!) together as a family then it makes our vacation all the better. Ironwood’s Camp emphasizes ways for young people to serve God today by serving others, to develop camaraderie among each church group, and to challenge young people to take the next step in their spiritual growth, and to have a week of fun. Each day will be filled with fun and hands-on projects. Campers will play games that they have never played before and try activities that allow them to learn new skills and practice old ones—swimming, canoeing, archery, BB guns, wrist rockets, fishing, horseback riding, and crafts to name a few. A retreat for anyone working professionally in ministry with youth, young adults, children, and families. Designed as a time of personal renewal, professional development, continuing education, and networking with other Youth Directors, Pastors, and Christian Educators . Time is spent in a peaceful mountain setting surrounded by God’s creation and wonderful people. Days are filled with time to relax, play, worship and be engaged in conversation and learning. This retreat will begin with lunch on Monday and ends with brunch on Wednesday. Early arrival options are also available.

There are so many games to play! Some involve stories while others numbers or letters, but all present a challenge. On screen and off campers will analyze what makes a good game, explore all the moving parts, and create their own game. (Acting) This specialty (offered by Impact Arts Academy) provides youth with knowledge and know-how for beginner-intermediate students in on stage and on screen acting. Students will receive hands on training by working on their acting techniques, stage presence, blocking, script analysis, and self-confidence. Jump into the world of your favorite fairytales and explore the characters and themes in a camp that is sure to end in, happily ever after! Splatter paint like Pollock, create cubism like Picasso, watch pastels form like Monet. The children will be creating pieces influenced by classic artists throughout time. They will explore a variety of materials to guide their artistic expression. The children will use their minds, hands and even their feet to create wonderful art that will hang throughout the lobby.
