This classic summer program involves students using their imaginations to just having fun with Lego elements! During Lego Mania we build cool animals, interesting machines and unique buildings. At the end we will have created a Lego community. This will be a 4 week event. Workouts will last for 1 hour and they will be full body workouts. Everyone will need their own yoga mat, jump rope, 2 3-8 lbs weights, water, and towel. All fitness levels are welcome you will never be judged only motivated to push yourself. Bring a positive attitude and a smile. Invite your friends and let's make this a amazing event plus we all know if you bring someone with you then you are 90% more than likely to complete the fitness camp. Science Quest: Summer Inclusion Camp 2016 We have partnered with the Challenger Learning Center of NWI to offer three Tuesday camp experiences on June 14th, 21st and 28th for all kids, teens and adults with varying abilities. Siblings, friends and neighbors are welcome! Age Groups: Students entering kindergarten-age 10 will meet from 9-11:30am Students ages 11-adult will meet from 12:30pm-2:00pm Tuesday Classes: June 14th: Astronomy June 21st: Animals and Bugs June 28th: Magnets and Electricity There is a 20 person limit per class! The cost is $10 per child which includes all three sessions. Parents are required to stay with the younger group. Buddies will be available to give our groups extra help. Have you watched the 2016 Primary Election debates and wondered, "Is that the best that a professional public speaker can do?" Are you interested in winning arguments or influencing your friends, family and classmates? If you answered "YES" to any of these questions, then Debate Camp is for YOU! If gaining the skills needed to succeed in a career such as law or STEM, or if gaining an advantage in advanced level history courses or any course requiring effective and persuasive communication interests you, then wed love to have you at Debate Camp! This camp will help you gain and sharpen specific tools and techniques related to persuasive communication including: court room trials, persuasive presentations, political campaigns and competitive team debates. You will learn how to use evidence-based arguments to persuade others to support and act on your ideas and proposals. Middle - The Prairie School
Designed specifically to meet the needs of middle schoolers, the daily program offers a diverse selection of activities, arts, academics and experiences. Campers explore science, arts and crafts, math, environmental education, computer keyboarding and software, and geocaching each week. The camp offers instruction and supervised play in a variety of sports. In addition, campers will learn the importance of teamwork and charity as they join the other Hawks Haven campers on field trips when appropriate. Week I - Brevard Distance Runners Camp
For all levels, ages 13-18. Instruction includes bio-mechanics, nutrition, goal setting and individualized training procedures. Small group discussions will cover goal setting, training and racing techniques, motivational techniques and supplemental training. Runs will vary according to individual fitness level. Morning workouts offer options of running, yoga, circuit training, aerobics, pilates, tai chi, and weights. Guest speakers will enlighten campers on a variety of interesting topics, including motivation, injuries, training schedules, and choosing college programs. Campers may also participate in an abundance of scheduled or free-time activities including volleyball, ultimate frisbee, basketball, dodge ball, and a talent show. A dance concludes the camp. Open to teams or individuals. Teams of seven or more can choose either week to attend team camp. Team camp is for teams of 7 or more runners. A coach MUST come with each team (at no charge) and they must bring transportation. The emphasis of this week is on team building activities, individualized team training runs (coaches choose mileage, intensity, and terrain), group challenge courses and recreational activities. Our unique summer program is designed for incoming 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th graders. We have now added K, and 1st. We provide a fun-filled environment where students can learn the various skills needed to be successful in school and in life. Parents choose two classes for their students to be enrolled in. Classes are Monday-Thursday, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Castle Creek. This camp is an introduction into the world of robotics. Campers will be introduced to six simple machines and how they are incorporated into more complex machines. Campers will learn about circuits and power sources as they build our Mars-like RC Rover. The radio-controlled RC Rover is capable of performing 23 experiments and activities. Campers will also have fun constructing our Aluminum Can Robot and will work in the areas of observation, experimentation and trial and error as they build, race, and experiment with their robots.
