Did you know that your favorite sweet treats are the product of an interesting array of chemical reactions? Tie on your apron! Its time to bake some sweet treats as we have fun learning about the science of baking and kitchen safety. Participants in this session will learn the science behind baking the perfect cookie as well as the proper way to measure and mix ingredients, kitchen safety, baking techniques, and how to overcome baking challenges as we make a different type of cookie each day (including at least one gluten free option). Ms. Suzanne Russell earned her M.S. in Library Science from Indiana University. She is the subject area librarian for Brebeufs Religious Studies and Science departments. ART- MOVIE STAR CAMP (AGE 8-15) Experience the excitement of starring in your own movie! Students learn how to act for the camera by one of our experienced directors who has worked for Disney and Nickelodeon studios, receive a starring role in their own short movie, then walk the red carpet at our annual movie premiere on September 13th. Lacrosse: the fastest growing team sport in America. This camp is designed for girls and boys. Non-contact lacrosse, also know as "Soft Lacrosse" is played. Individual skills are taught: catching, throwing, scooping and cradling. Campers will be divided by age and skill level. Sports Unlimited provides all the equipment. and focuses on fun, skill development, team play, safety and sportsmanship. Campers should bring sunscreen, water and a snack. Rain make ups will take place on Fridays.
