Through observation and inquiry, students explore the Nature around them. In this session we take the children through nature trails and begin our journey with a trees parts and the role each part plays in a trees life cycle. After observing patterns in nature, students create their own design project that will reinforce the lesson learned. What makes a bird a bird? To find out, students go on a picturesque bird walk and use binoculars to observe birds closely. They comb the environment to investigate artifacts like feathers, feet, and skulls to discover how different birds learn to adapt and thrive in their special niches. A hands-on art project helps to reinforce this avian adventure. Through simple scientific observation and physical exploration, students investigate the nature of seeds, their role in the cycle of life, and interesting ways that they adapt, survive, and thrive in their environment. Students dissect seeds and then create their own seed mosaic. They learn about the lifecycles of bees and the role they play in pollination. TBA camps are designed for all climbing levels. Kids will learn a variety of climbing skills such as body awareness, technique, and problem reading through fun games and activities. Campers will also be able to participate in playful yoga classes, game time, and have personal climbing instruction from the teachers. For almost 3 decades YFC and Campus Life have been a safe haven for 1000’s of middle and high school students. From weekly meetings, amazing volunteers, Mr. Happy Band, JV Dares, small groups, Florida Breakaway, JV Camp, Winter Weekend, DCLA, Colorado Challenge, pig scrambles and a good game of seek and destroy, there hasn’t been a dull moment. This holiday season we are inviting our Campus Life Alumni to Come Home For Christmas. On Thursday December 17th we invite you to join us from 7pm-9pm for a Campus Life Alumni open house. This is a great opportunity to see how the building has changed, share Campus Life memories, and hear how Campus Life is still giving life to so many kid’s stories. So come on out, enjoy some good eats, a warm cup of coffee, and share your Campus Life story. Please consider this your official invite. Simply indicate that you plan to attend. Youth Colorguard Camp - Salem, MO
Come join us for Youth Color Guard Camp in February! Grades 3-5. Register by January 15th to make sure you can recieve a t-shirt. We will practice Monday, February 8th and Tuesday, February 9th from 6pm until 7pm in the High School Band Room. BLA WABASH WRESTLING MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP This camp provides our youth wrestlers the opportunity to learn not only the fundamental skills of wrestling, but the same cutting edge technique shown to our older campers. The Middle School Band program is designed to accommodate musicians ranging from the most talented and proficient to the less experienced, with a minimum of one year of training on their chosen instrument. It is open to entering grades 7, 8 or 9. The concert bands are conducted by outstanding band directors from around the state. This session provides an excellent opportunity for young musicians to improve their individual performance skills. Instruction includes rehearsals, sectionals, master classes, supervised practice, and optional private lessons. Students who have completed the 8th grade may register for Middle School and/or High School Band Camp 512-232-2080
Colorful Creations 3rd-5th - Art Unleashed!
