LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Girls Sports Camp - Leaders-in-Training Program - Germantown Friends School
The Girls Sports Camps Leaders-in-Training Program combines a classic counselor-in-training program (focused on assisting younger campers) with leadership training activities. Under the direction of GFS Physical Education Department Director, Deb Brackett, training sessions will address such questions as, How do you know when to lead and when to follow? What are your emerging strengths as a leader? What makes an activity fun for campers? Are you prepared to handle unexpected situations? Can you take on the responsibility of leading warm-ups, cheers and other activities? Do you know what it takes to become a successful athlete yourself? LIT Program participants will work directly with campers and support both the camp director and the senior counselors in the daily activities of Girls Sports Camp. Get ready for a week of fun, adventure and sports! Go Tigers! ROAR! Swims at the Germantown Cricket Club add to the summertime fun! This camp is open only to GFS students. Bus transportation is available to and from Center City for $100 provided 17 campers sign-up on or before June 1 for transportation during the week of June 13 - 17. 215-951-2384

Returning to Teen Camp - undefined, CA
In the summer of 2014, I did something I never really thought I was called to do: work with TEENS. Being 21 at the time, I still considered myself one. Me? Being paired up with a 14-year old girl? Confronting normal teen issues paired with the difficulty that comes hand in hand while being in the foster system? Definitely a challenge. Not just zip-ling fun and games. (Also, I came home with crutches that year. FROM TRIPPING IN THE CAFETERIA. Hangry?) However, seeing how camp is something these kids/teens look forward to every year and how a weekend in the woods reminds them they are loved and adored is invaluable. Being with older and wiser counselors also inspired me because seeing the way they love unconditionally inspires me to not be selfish with my time and personal ambitions. These kids, this camp. It means something. A safe place with the ability to change lives long term. I'm proud to say that I'm returning to Teen Camp this year and it would be amazing to share the stories from last time with you (when I get a blog post up.) Until then, please prayerfully consider helping me get there. $500 dollars total sends me...

The holidays are such wonderful times to spend with the family. But sometimes, you need some extra time to clean or relax away from it all. Honor Yoga Jackson is happy to invite you to our first Kids Yoga camp! Running for three days, December 28, 29, and 30, the classes are two hours each. Deanna--who also teaches kindergaten--will be teaching the kids yoga through music, games, partner yoga and silly props! Parents are welcome to drop off their kids or stay for the fun! *We encourage a parent to stay with kids who are 5 and under, or with anyone who needs extra attention. Coed Dance Day Camp - Siena College - Marcelle Athletic Complex
Siena College Dance Camp provides a fun and exciting way to learn the fundamentals of dance. The camp is designed to teach a variety of different dance styles including hip hop, jazz, ballet, latin dance, breakdancing, modern, and tap. Campers can come with NO dance experience and learn a great deal or they can come with a lot of experience and be challenged while expanding their skill set. Campers will learn skills in dance workshops and dance choreography to showcase in an end of camp recital The camp staff is selected from area dance studio owners and creative directors along with current and former Siena Dance Team members that are eager to share their knowledge with the campers. This camp is for boys and girls ages 6-17, the cost is $320 per camper. A 15% discount is available to groups of eight (8) or more campers that must be done online with a group discount code. No additions will be allowed after the initial submission of a group. Children will use natural and magical materials to create their own miniature home for indoor fairies. They will stretch their imaginations when they use an amazing variety of materials to make fairy furniture, gardens or other comforts and accessories. INSTRUCTOR: CALLEN ZIMMERMAN Textiles for Teens is a gallery-based program at the Brooklyn location of the Textile Arts Center. This hands-on class explores students personal artistic interests right in the midst of our Artist in Residence studios, and will provide full access to our dye lab, screen printing facilities, sewing machines, looms, & more. Students will be able to draw inspiration from the eight resident artists and designers evolving work in fine arts, fashion design, and home textiles, and gain insight into the endless possibilities within the world of textiles. Technique Swim Academy is a summer swim camp at Harvard University for children who are interested in swimming at the club, high school or collegiate level, as well as those interested in the sport for recreation. Supervised by Harvard Head Coaches Stephanie Morawski and Kevin Tyrrell and Northeastern Head Coach Roy Coates, Technique Swim Academys roster of experienced instructors teach campers proper swim technique and help them achieve their personal best through concentrated swimming instruction. Each day, we focus on one competitive stroke and reinforce technique through demonstrations, practice drills and daily videotape sessions. Our goal is to provide an atmosphere where swimmers are excited by the sport and eager to learn about all facets of competitive swimming. 617-484-0550
