Limerick Fire Company's Third Annual YOUTH FIREFIGHTER CAMP June 20-24, 2016; 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Ages 6-13 years of age Registration Fee: $35; deadline to register: May 30, 2016 Welcome to Limerick Fire Company’s Youth Firefighter Camp. Due to the success of our camp, the deadline to register cannot be extended and attendance is limited to 60 campers. All registered cadets will receive one LFC Fireman’s tee shirt and LFC baseball cap to wear as their ‘daily uniform’. Hat and designated ‘uniform shirt’ must be worn every day because it identifies which group the cadet is assigned to for the week. If you are interested in purchasing extra camp shirts, they must be ordered at the time of registration-$10 per shirt. Why try this Camp? BlackRock offers 5 days chock full of fun sampling all the art forms: visual art, music, dance and theater. Spend your days off during MCPS Spring Break painting, singing, learning a new dance and creating characters for the stage. Enroll in this class if you only want to join us for part of the week. Each day will have a different theme and culminate in a sharing of student work for family and friends. The staff comprises of University of Portland head coach Brent Crouch and assistants Nellie Coleman and Nate Ngo. Our experienced staff, including current NDP coaches and players, encourages all campers to work hard, learn new skills and make new friends. Fundamentals and team concepts will be stressed. Campers should arrive 15 minutes early on the first day to check in. These camps often sell out, so please sign up early. What to wear/bring: Athletic attire, indoor athletic shoes, socks, knee pads and water bottle. Please note our new cancellation policy. This camp is an introduction into the world of robotics. Campers will be introduced to six simple machines and how they are incorporated into more complex machines. Campers will learn about circuits and power sources as they build our Mars-like RC Rover. The radio-controlled RC Rover is capable of performing 23 experiments and activities. Campers will also have fun constructing our Aluminum Can Robot and will work in the areas of observation, experimentation and trial and error as they build, race, and experiment with their robots.
