LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Kayak Fishing Camp - Week 5 - The Greenwell Foundation
Kayak Fishing Camp is for children ages 8 – 12 (by first day of camp session). This camp combines two of the favorite activities at camp – kayaking and fishing! The week begins with a lesson on the water learning kayaking skills with a certified instructor. The campers will then have two opportunities during the week to be on the water, combining these two skills – and hopefully catch some fish! With help from a member of the Maryland Saltwater Sport fishing Association (MSSA), campers will have on-land instruction learning how to tie lures, cast a line and what fish can be found in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Friday, the campers get to choose if they want to fish or go crabbing from the boat launch or fish from a kayak. In addition to all the fishing and kayaking, campers will also have the opportunity to do archery, field games, crafts and get wet with water games. Each afternoon, campers are provided an afternoon snack and each week a chance to make Smores. The week ends with Tye-Dye Friday for a take-home memory of the week at camp. The Details! My daughter can’t wait to go back to the Triple Threat Horse And Country Camp. Since we live in the city, she had no idea how to care for a horse. She also had the opportunity to ride a horse on the trails of the Sandia Foothills. She loved being outdoors and learning about horses. They also had a good old fashioned cookout. Hi Everyone! It's almost 2016, which means it's finally time to start preparations for this summer's camp! The first informational meeting will be on Saturday, January 9th. There will be a total of two informational meetings (the second on January 31st). If you are applying to be a full time counselor for the first time, you are required to attend at least one of the meetings. Also, keep an eye out on your emails for the counselor application that will be released soon. Can't wait to see all of you on January 9th!
