PowerHouse Regional Youth Conference - Milford, IN
The PowerHouse regional youth conference will return to Camp Mack again this year, providing a weekend of worship, workshops, music, recreation, and more for senior high youth in the Midwest and their advisors. The Church of the Brethren BVS and Workcamp staff will provide leadership for the weekend on the theme "Plug In: to God, each other & the world" based on 3 John 1:13-14. Cost is $80 for youth, $70 for advisors and will go up $10 if you register after October 21. Registration is LIVE at www.manchester.edu/powerhouse. 1st Event of 2016: Oblivion - Columbus, IN
Something that has been toying with the New Sanctuary for a long time finally gets down to brass tacks. Big changes occur in the world, new horrors appear, bad stuff happens to good people, and the smart folks will bring their own in-game light sources. This is a full weekend long immersive LARP experience. The price is $60 for players who will need to bring sleeping bags, toiletries, extra socks, costumes, weapons, spell packets, and extra badass to withstand a weekend of imagination and adventure. Meals in the tavern are an additional cost, but hearty and well worth it. NPCs pay $15, and don't need to bring costuming. Their admission fee covers their meals as well. NPCs need to bring dark clothes they can move in, sturdy shoes, extra socks, sleeping bag, and toiletries. We ask that people try to get to the site by 8 so that they can have time to get into costume and go through registration before lay on at 10. We will be able to arrive on site as early as 3 PM. In this hands-on class, campers will use the LEGO system to create simple machines. They will learn about levers, pulleys, axels, wheels, and gears through activates designed to challenge the young engineer. Through the knowledge gained, campers will design and create mechanisms including a catapult, crane, car and other interesting machines. Come join the fun where everything is awesome! 773-881-6700

Students should join us for a fun week filled with outdoor skills, crafts, songs and stories. We will cook box oven brownies, make a knot person, your own shelter, play first aid knife and fire safety games. There is a lot do, create and learn to make the great outdoors fun and safe. We will experiment with a totally new way to connect with the world. Rephone is an open source modular phone kit that allows campers to create their own cellular phone. It is cutting edge technology invented by a group of technologists committed to extending the frontiers of technology by sharing their products blueprint. Enabled by a computer chip the size of a penny, campers can connect video, touch screen, GPS, motion sensor, or camera to the chip. Once connected, campers can send texts, make calls, or place on their personal property or pet to track their whereabouts. Campers can also program custom logic. NOTE: THIS PROGRAM RUNS MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY FOR A HALF DAY. FRIDAYS ARE FIELD TRIP DAYS AND ARE THEREFORE FULL DAYS.
