Week I Mock Trial - Franciscan Montessori Earth School
This course will sharpen students thinking skills, speaking and debate skills, and will give students an insight into the U.S. legal system. Well be using realistic and engaging case material prepared by the Classroom Law Project to prepare for and stage a trial during the first four days of camp. The final day will be a field trip in downtown Portland to observe a real court in session and meet with lawyers and judges to learn more about our legal system. 503-760-8220 x253
Cheer Camp 1st-6th grades - Wichita Collegiate School
Instructor: Horsch. This camp is a great way to have your energetic boy or girl learn to cheer for the home team. They will be introduced to basic cheer moves and stunts. The athletes will also learn basic tumbling, focusing on correct stretching and flexibility techniques. Each camp week will include daily crafts and a parent performance at the end of the week. Sizzling Music, Latin Dance & Culture Adventure Week We make it easy for our campers to learn the basic dance steps of traditional dances of Columbia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Perú, Chile & more. Campers gain geographical, cultural and artistic awareness of South American countries through exposure to their music, food and dance forms. Additionally campers learn how to move to new rhythms. No prior dance training required. Campers play active & quiet games, create, sing songs, act, dance, cook, play sports and discover the joys of learning Spanish through engaging activities. Theme vocabulary includes colors, counting, verbs, nouns related to instruments, adjectives, sounds, tastes and places. Campers learn common Spanish words & phrases for movements, directions & parts of the body while getting in shape to lively music. Celebration Day Wed. Venture on and around the water using maps and clues to solve these maritime mysteries. Use compasses, kayaks, microscopes, historical stories, and animal evidence to decipher the hints to reveal and find your destinations.
