This session will allow kids to convert their favorite stories into keepsake crafts using the process of upcycling. This experience will teach the importance of repurposing through creativity while encouraging conversations about the value and importance of literature in our lives. Participants will create several items from old books chosen for this purpose. While creating these items, we will discuss their favorite stories, the most fascinating characters, and why books and upcycling are important. *Participants will need to bring 3 hardback books of their choice; books that are in disrepair or those which would otherwise be recycled are recommended. Favorite childrens books are especially useful. Ms. Suzanne Russell earned her M.S. in Library Science from Indiana University. She is the subject area librarian for Brebeufs Religious Studies and Science departments. She is a former Girl Scout leader; enjoys books, cooking, baking; and loves all things outdoors. The youth have voted for their year-end field trip to be at Parrie Haynes Ranch for some camping and trail riding! If you are a current ECEA youth member, your campsite and day fees are paid for by youth club money raised at our youth fundraiser show. Please let me know if you are planning to attend, if you need RV hookups, how many horses you are bringing and how many people you are bringing so that I can make reservations next week. We will have orgainized group dinners and group breakfast. Bring your own drinks, lunches and snacks. It's going to be a blast!

CIT (Counselor in Training) - Positive Energy Outdoors
Spend time this summer as a CIT with Positive Energy Outdoors and become an outdoor leader. As a mentor and role model for younger campers, youll assist PEO staff with games, team building challenges and camp activities including kayaking, SUP, rock climbing, hiking, draft horses and more. Youll also be trained to help with the maurices portable climbing wall at community events. A mandatory training/orientation session is required on Friday, June 10 from 12 - 4 pm. A commitment of at least one full week of camp is required for participation, and transportation is available from Marshall School (drop off at 8:15 am and pick up at 4:45 each day). Wave Runners Day Camp- Session 1 (4th-8th Graders) - Environmental Studies Center
Campers will have lots of fun while learning to care for their environment. Outdoor activities and environmental learning are the focus of this camp. New this year! Snack bar open each morning and ice cream day on Tuesdays. All selections $1.00. Activities include: *A boat trip on the Indian River Lagoon *Seining *Setting up and maintaining aquaria *Area beach and park visits *Fishing *Cast netting *Various water activities *Snorkeling *Arts & Crafts *Games & relay races *Special Friday activities All teachers are state certified and camper/teacher ratio is 20/1.
