Gymnastics camp at Prestige Gymnastics is the perfect opportunity to test out gymnastics or to get in a little extra practice! We will divide up beginners and intermediates at the time of class. This camp will work on a variety of drills and skills on all 4 Olympic events including vault, bars, beam and floor while gaining a multitude of knowledge in the basics of gymnastics. This camp is an awesome physical activity to get kids off of the couch and keep them moving during the summer! Aside from basic skills, we will be working on conditioning and gaining flexibility, balance and strength. 9 hours of instruction, snacks and a camp t shirt. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Must wear comfortable or athletic clothes, jeans not preferred. Thank you so much for supporting Camp Common Ground's effort to get our youth leaders in Oakland to camp! Your attendance and participation at the launch of our second fundraiser will be imperative to ensuring that our youth from diverse racial and economic backgrounds can stand together this summer to break down barriers that exist between their communities. Come hungry and ready to drink, and don't forget your laptops, smartphones, tablets, etc. that we will use to get the word out about the fundraiser to all of our networks! What's the impact we will make in one day? The fundraiser will last for the entire month of March. During last month's fundraiser, Camp Common Ground supporters exceeded the fundraising goal of $4800. The $5400 raised will bring 4 Oakland youth to camp. During this fundraiser, we will raise $13,200, which will bring 16 more Oakland youth to camp--6 more on full scholarships and 10 on partial scholarships. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Debate Camp 2.0 (Grades 6 - 9) Debate Camp 2.0 is limited to participants who have already completed a week of Debate Camp in the summer of 2015, or who are registered for a week of Debate Camp for summer 2016 (If plan on registering for both programs at the same time you must register in person). It will be a faster moving and more advanced program designed to sharpen debate and mock trial skills at a more competitive level. Less time will be spent on the acquisition of skill through mini-lessons and modeling and more time will be spent engaged in competitive debates, mock trials, and political campaigns. Since less time will be devoted to the direct teaching of the fundamental debate and persuasive communication techniques, campers will be engaged in more debates and mock trials throughout the week. Campers will also be working in campaign teams to draw from the ideas of existing presidential candidates to design their own original political platform and run in a Mock-Campaign/Election for President of the United States!
