Rutgers Media Art Intensive Natalie Bookchin, artistic director Grace Jackson, assistant director Brian Edgerton, instructor July 25 – August 5, 2016 (weekdays only) Ages 14 to 18 | commuter only Rutgers 2016 Media Art Intensive Website: / The Rutgers Media Art Intensive introduces students to the world of media art – a synthesis of artistic experimentation, technology, and the visual arts. Students create original works of art, working with sound, video, and/or media installation. Instruction covers techniques for shooting video, studio lighting, recording sound, 2-d animation, green screen compositing, and the basics of video and sound editing. Students utilize the computer labs, hardware and sound studio facilities of the Mason Gross School of the Arts media area. The intensive will culminate in a public showcase of student artwork produced in class. This is our 3rd annual event. It is an all day music festival held on the grounds of Rock Lake Christian Assembly in Vestaburg, Mi. The day begins with a 5K run in the morning with the music starting at noon and continuing through the day and into the night.
KIDS CAMP- Midwest Women's Herbal Kids Camp - Almond, WI
Kids Herbal Camp offers children the opportunity to attend the MWHC while learning about herbs through age appropriate activities. The Kids Camp offers guardians the opportunity to attend the conference along with the children in their lives. Guardians will be able to attend classes kid-free and know that their children are also being exposed to plant wisdom. Kids Herbal Camp is for children ages 3 – 11 (boys and girls are welcome to participate) and activities will be planned according to ages. This year the kids Herbal Camp is run by Heidi Huebner, founder and steward of Blue Bird Hill Homestead in Hudson, WI. Kristine Brown will be offering a workshop session for the kids too! D.C. Uniteds Spring Break camps provide participants aged 5 – 16 to experience an exciting soccer environment consisting of modern camp exercises, high-level skills demonstrations, and small-sided competitions. Campers will be exposed to a different set of technical and tactical focuses each day of camp. Coaches will work with players to develop their technical ability as well as discover a better understanding of the game in a fun and energetic environment. All participants will receive an official D.C. United camp ball, an official camp t-shirt, a ticket voucher to a D.C. Looking to build on a successful first year at the 2015 GDS summer camp , we are back for even more fun for 2016 with two sessions available! [MTB 101 June 13-17 and MTB 201 July 25-29] For a full week, your child will get the opportunity to safely explore our amazing local Greensboro mountain bike trails while also learning basic mountain bike repair and maintenance. Instruction will be provided from highly experienced local bike shop mechanics combined with skills instruction and guided rides from certified International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) guides. This camp will split time between instruction, skills sessions and most importantly bike riding! All your child needs is a bike in good working condition with knobby tires and a helmet.
