I sent my teenager to the Taft Summer School in Watertown, CT this past summer and I am so glad I did! She was able to get intensive learning in a school environment, but it wasn't school. It was more fun and had a lot of extras, so she was able to get the best of both worlds. The teachers are excited to teach and that’s why the campers learn so much. Leadership Camp - Ensworth High School
This course develops leadership skills for middle school students in preparation for High School and beyond. Students spend time in discussion around Harkness Tables, in leadership sessions, in class learning from EHS teachers, participating in PE oriented competitions, and visiting with guest speakers. The leadership camp focuses on hands-on applied projects in various disciplines while covering topics such as public speaking, study skills, writing, technology, and organization. Students participate in team building activities while learning to delegate, rely on others, and practice decision-making skills. Campers will have opportunities to learn about horses and equestrian safety, and they will experience riding. Campers will stay at Camp Mardela and travel offsite for riding activities. Activities may vary based on schedules and availability. In addition to Horse Camp activities, there will be time for traditional camp activities. Learn to skillfully fly a remote controlled helicopter drone, then race the clock in our drone obstacle course. Take your drone home to enjoy after camp! Activities like archery, bb guns, and the climbing wall along with campfires and times of worship round off the program.
