KIDS CAMP- Midwest Women's Herbal Kids Camp - Almond, WI
Kids Herbal Camp offers children the opportunity to attend the MWHC while learning about herbs through age appropriate activities. The Kids Camp offers guardians the opportunity to attend the conference along with the children in their lives. Guardians will be able to attend classes kid-free and know that their children are also being exposed to plant wisdom. Kids Herbal Camp is for children ages 3 – 11 (boys and girls are welcome to participate) and activities will be planned according to ages. This year the kids Herbal Camp is run by Heidi Huebner, founder and steward of Blue Bird Hill Homestead in Hudson, WI. Kristine Brown will be offering a workshop session for the kids too! I Troop Camping May 6, 7 & 8 - Sandy Ridge
Spend some time camping with your Girl Scout Troop at Sandy Ridge! Price includes accommodations at Sandy Ridge. Troop is responsible for food and programming during their stay. Troop leaders are required to have specific trainings to camp overnight with their Troop at Sandy Ridge. Please contact Michaela Watts at 843-552-9910 ext. 2390 or for more information on training. Troops must have approval by GSESC to overnight camp at Sandy Ridge. A Trip Approval Form must be submitted to your Regional Volunteer Services Specialist (VSS) at least three weeks prior to reservation date. Please note prices listed are for a two-night Girl Scout rental of living unit. Contact Chuck Iler to request a one-night rental. Outside group rental prices are different. Beyond Your Best Books - Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School
This session will allow kids to convert their favorite stories into keepsake crafts using the process of upcycling. This experience will teach the importance of repurposing through creativity while encouraging conversations about the value and importance of literature in our lives. Participants will create several items from old books chosen for this purpose. While creating these items, we will discuss their favorite stories, the most fascinating characters, and why books and upcycling are important. *Participants will need to bring 3 hardback books of their choice; books that are in disrepair or those which would otherwise be recycled are recommended. Favorite childrens books are especially useful. Ms. Suzanne Russell earned her M.S. in Library Science from Indiana University. She is the subject area librarian for Brebeufs Religious Studies and Science departments. She is a former Girl Scout leader; enjoys books, cooking, baking; and loves all things outdoors. Students will learn how to program their own computer games and simulations, using Microsofts Kodu interactive game development environment and NetLogo, developed at Northwestern University. They will design their own landscapes for their Kodu character to navigate, add apples to collect and score points, and much more in this visual, block-based programming language. Well learn NetLogo by exploring models of ant colonies, traffic simulations, and the theory of wolf-sheep predation. Then students will design their own scenarios and even create games by typing in simple text-based code. No previous experience necessary. 206-957-1533

Get a taste of summer at our Spring Break Camp! Our camp counselors are dedicated to providing a safe and fun environment for children to interact, meet new friends and participate in exciting camp activities. Campers will spend their day at the park, playing dodgeball, creating art masterpieces and going down the waterslide at our pool. Join us for an exciting week of camp games, sports, swimming and more! Please bring a sack lunch, snacks, water, swim suit, towel and sunblock to camp daily. Come join the fun! Only need a day or two of camp? We take drop-ins! Drop-ins are dependent on space availability and are $45 per day. There are no sibling discounts for drop-ins. Please register for drop-in days through the Community Center office. Drop-ins for Before Care is $8 per day and After Care is $15 per day.
