Teen Summer Garden Camp - Carlisle, PA
Cumberland County, PA – New this summer, a horticulture program designed just for teens! Join the Master Gardeners of Cumberland County for their first-ever Teen Summer Garden Camp on two Mondays, June 20 and June 27, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Held at the Penn State Extension Office in Carlisle and the Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SEAREC) in Manheim, PA, this fun-filled camp offers teens ages 13-15, or in grades 7-9, the ability to explore and discover the “behind-the-scenes” of a garden. The first camp session on June 20 offers teens the opportunity to delve deeper into horticulture topics and engage in hands-on learning about the scientific method, photosynthesis, chromatography, soils, microscope skills, and plant identification. Teens will also build their very own gourd birdhouse. Come prepared for plenty of exploration, observations, activities and discussions! For the second camp session on June 27, teens will travel to the Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SEAREC) in Manheim, PA. Campers will take a wagon tour across the research farm, explore thousands of annual and perennial flowers, visit the Idea Gardens, and create a colorful bandana using vegetable dyes. 2016 Duluth FCA Youth Sports Camp - Duluth, MN
The Duluth Youth Sports Camp is a day camp for young athletes entering grades 2-7 (Fall 2016) who want to develop their skills in several sports and build their personal character. Campers will choose two sports to train in for the duration of camp and will be divided into groups for age appropriate training. Morning Sports: Baseball (boys), Volleyball (girls), Soccer (coed) Afternoon Sports: Football (boys), Softball (girls), Basketball (coed) Note: All registrations are being taken online and must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. We will all spend the night in the dorms to bring back memories of when we were campers/staff at FM Youth! This event is for 7th grade and above. If you are 6th grade or below, a parent/guardian must be attending the event as well. We would LOVE to have families come! Bring your spouse and children; just make sure to register them too!! Saturday will be treated as a day of camp and a work day. It will conclude with a pie auction and hamburger fry at 6pm. Proceeds raised from this will go towards the trustees. August 1-11: Backpacking/ Digital Storytelling (Ages 13-16) - Mountain Kids!
We are psyched to bring our dual passions for getting into nature and documenting our adventures to Mountain Kids! Campers will spend the first day learning what it takes to makes a compelling video, composition and audio recording. Campers will then learn how to prepare and pack for a backpacking trip, the 6 Ws of preparing for any outdoor trip, map reading and leave no trace principles. We will spend time writing and creating stories on a two night backpacking trip. During the second week, campers will share their time between the recording studio, the computer lab and getting outside to create a 2-3 minute video of their adventures. On Thursday evening we will celebrate with a screening of their work. Equipment Needed: • Backpacking pack, sleeping pad, a sleeping bag, and a mess kit (bowl, fork, spoon, cup). Spring Break Advanced Junior Golf School - Charleston Municipal Golf Course
Spring Advanced Junior Golf School Ages: 13-17 $75 Registration Fee Monday, March 28th – Thursday, March 31st 1:00pm -3:30pm This Golf School will focus solely on instruction and fundamentals of executing each golf shot. Video analysis of each shot will be recorded and reviewed and sent to the student for future review. Each student will understand their flaws and what to practice to improve them based on their goals. This class will have advanced instruction techniques but is acceptable for all abilities. Each student will leave school with a better understanding of their golf swing and what it take to improve to reach their goals. Camp Instruction led by PGA Master Instructor Boykin Powers.
