Do you think you can solve a highly interactive robotics game? Would you like to create an effective scoring robot both using tele-operated mode and autonomous mode using the VEX IQ Design system? If you answered yes to those questions, this is the camp for you! Students will learn how to design effective robots, overcome design challenges, and effectively use motors, gears and sensors in a winning combination to create a robot. On the last day of camp, participants will run their robots in a real competition in front of friends and family! VEX IQ robotics design system will be used to learn the art of engineering, science and programming. Willem Scholten is Seattle Preps robotics coach. He is passionate about introducing kids through hands-on learning, to the wonderful world of Robotics. Why Robotics? Camp Collegiate Session 5 3rd-8th grades - Wichita Collegiate School
Instructor: Hawley Session 5: Explore the Great Outdoors III. Camp Collegiate is a fast-paced, fun-based learning experience that is meant to make summer days fly by with fun activities. Boys and girls in third through eighth grade spend their days with friends and counselors doing all of the typical camp things: swimming, cooking out on a camp fire, canoe trips, arts and crafts, having treats, horseback riding, games … and a lot of not-so-traditional things: feeding and caring for snakes and hamsters; studying ecosystems and astronomy; competing in science challenges; building woodworking and electronics projects. Fun off-campus trips will include canoeing down the Fall River, visiting the Oklahoma salt flats, going to Laser Quest, the Alley, Ice Skating, Tanganyika, the Sedgwick Co. Zoo, and All-Star Adventures. Kids often say that great memories are made in this camp and its one of the best parts of their summer!
