LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Soccer Camp - Skills N Thrills - Jack Jackter Intermediate School
Soccer stars learn to enhance technical skills, build new skills, and learn basic tactics including attacking and defending. Over the week, players will be self assessed using standardized National Soccer Tests focusing on the technical aspects of the game, along with the UK Quiz, and World Cup Competition. Each child receives a t-shirt and certificate at the end of the week! Instructed by UK Socca -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JJIS Soccer Field. Please bring adequate water for each participant, apply sunscreen/sunblock daily. Please wear appropriate clothing. Cleats are fine for outside, however please also bring sneakers for indoor use (gymnasium) as well. Rain location is JJIS Gym. Rebels, Outsiders, and Visionaries - NCSSM Durham Campus
Description: In this course we will look at cultural pioneers, those who dared to push the boundaries of art, music, film and literature, and the profound effect they had on the status quo. We will explore a wide variety of artists, from William Blake (poet/artist) and Art Blakey (jazz drummer) to Chuck D (activist, emcee, author) and David Lynch (film maker). We will also harness alternate and augmented reality technology to create an interactive installation on NCSSMs campus. Goals: Participants will understand the role of the rebel and how the rebels outsider perspective creates cultural change. Participants will be also work collaboratively to plan and build both an augmented reality exhibit and an alternate reality game to teach participants about the history of rebellious artists and thinkers. 919-416-2635
