This activity may not be registered for individually because it is part of a package.The Arroyo Seco Adventure Camp offers opportunities to learn about our local, natural resources in a fun and exciting way. Now in its third year, this innovative camp pairs environmental education with traditional camp activities. Based in Brookside Park with regular activities in the lower Arroyo, this is an outdoor camp. The first week of camp focuses on origins of the Arroyo Seco and the geological events that created this amazing space. Other weeks focus on plants of the Arroyo, local animals and myths, protecting and exploring nature and survival skills. Conservation specialisits lead daily nature walks and instruct on conservation of environmental resources, native plants and local wildlife. Other activities include casting pond fly-fishing, archery, horseback riding, hiking, environmental education lessons, swimming, art and group games. Campers go on a weekly environmental themed field trip. In previous years, trips included kayaking, nature centers and local farms. Staff ratio is 1 to 10. Camp Jam Summer Camp - Atlanta, GA
Jammin Kids Inc. presents "Camp Jam," an all encompassing camp that gives your child hands on experience in many genres such as acting, dance, science, fitness, career exploration entrepreneurship, and more. Camp Jam is open to all children ages 5-13 (4 year olds are welcome if potty trained or turning 5 during the summer). Tuition is $70 per week (includes snacks). Parents, looking for a place to send the older kids? Camp Jam is extending an awesome invitation for volunteers ages 14-18 to help out with daily rountines for the younger campers. Volunteers also gain experience teaching classes and building life long confidence and leadership skills. Volunteers receive free weekly tuition but must make a commitment to attend camp daily. Camp will take place from 9am-4pm with early drop off and late pickup at an additional $5 per day Camp Jam hosts daily drop-ins for $25 per day and half days for $15 per day. Returning to Teen Camp - undefined, CA
In the summer of 2014, I did something I never really thought I was called to do: work with TEENS. Being 21 at the time, I still considered myself one. Me? Being paired up with a 14-year old girl? Confronting normal teen issues paired with the difficulty that comes hand in hand while being in the foster system? Definitely a challenge. Not just zip-ling fun and games. (Also, I came home with crutches that year. FROM TRIPPING IN THE CAFETERIA. Hangry?) However, seeing how camp is something these kids/teens look forward to every year and how a weekend in the woods reminds them they are loved and adored is invaluable. Being with older and wiser counselors also inspired me because seeing the way they love unconditionally inspires me to not be selfish with my time and personal ambitions. These kids, this camp. It means something. A safe place with the ability to change lives long term. I'm proud to say that I'm returning to Teen Camp this year and it would be amazing to share the stories from last time with you (when I get a blog post up.) K-5th Grade Music Theater with Lachey Arts at Terrace Park Elementary - Terrace Park Elementary
Lachey Arts is proud to work in conjunction with Mariemont Schools to bring music theater to our elementary students. During the 10 week class, students will work on singing, dancing and acting skills. Parents will be invited to the final class to watch the performance. This class is open to students in kindergarten-3rd grade at Terrace Park Elementary. It takes place on Thursdays after school. *Please note- the class will start at 2:00 on Thursday, January 14th due to the early release scheduled that day. 513-272-7407

Thursday After School Spring 2016 - Terra Firma Farm
Terra Firma Farm is entering our 12th year of After School Programs here on the Farm! Throughout the year, the farm-based after school program serves local area students every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. The Terra Firma Farm After School program follows the Stonington Public School Calendar for holidays, half days, vacations and cancellations. Students are dropped at the farm after school or on the school bus and must be picked up by 5:30 PM. The After School program offers children in grades K- 4 the opportunity for fun, learning and exploration. Students arrive on the farm and are welcomed with a fresh after school snack. The children then do farm animal chores such as feeding the pigs, goats, cows, donkeys and the hens. A highlight of each day is gathering eggs from the laying hens. After chores are completed, children may participate in a range of other agriculture-based activities, including gardening, cooking, canning and preserving food, cheese- or butter-making, fiber arts, nature crafts, and much more. Other crafts and activities are scheduled to coincide with holidays and seasonal changes on the farm. 860-535-8171
