Girls 5/6 LAX - Old Trail LAX fields and HMAC
The next team sport to open up for registration in our new Grade 5/6 Team Sports Development Program will be Girls Lacrosse. The goal of this program is to help girls develop basic lacrosse game skills and to provide opportunities to apply these skills in modified game situations. This program will be coached by Ms. Margie Anderson, former NCAA Division I College player (UMass) and coach (UNH) and one of our coaches of the MS girls 7 & 8 grade Girls Lacrosse teams and by Mrs. Christy Woodburn, grade 5 Assistant. Practices will be held on the following Wednesdays and Fridays: April 20, 22 , 27, and 29 and May 6, and 11. In addition, a small number of games/scrimmages are scheduled on Monday 5/2 (Hudson Youth at OTS), Friday 5/13 (the Saints at OTS), Saturday 5/14 (noon CLE at OTS), plus on Wednesday 5/18 (Revere Youth at OTS). Minimum number of participants will be 12 Registration fee is $125 and the registration deadline is April 17, 2016 Players are strongly encouraged to bring their own goggles, mouth guards and sticks. KODA Youth Girls (Ages 13–16) - Camp Mark 7
Camp Mark Seven offers a place where hearing children of Deaf parents could come together to learn about, and better understand the two worlds that they simultaneously live in, and where they could explore, identify, and strengthen their unique C/KODA identities and develop individually as leaders. All of this would occur, ideally, in a recreational camping environment that would foster a lot of interaction and activities for each child and youth. Program activities: Swimming and tubing. Paddle a canoe on the chosen rivers/lakes and camp out under the stars. Low ropes course. Diverse outdoor games. Arts & crafts. Hike different mountains. Evening Bonfires. Star Wars Character Drawing - Valle Verde Elementary
Instructor: Village Center for the Arts () Room: A-2 Learn to draw all your favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away. Create your own Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Yoda and more, even X-Wings and Tie Fighters! Each class focuses on one or two characters, starting with basic shapes and stick figures, and working our way up to a complete, colored drawing each week. The Art of Cubism: Clay Reliefs - Location: Center for The Creative Arts
This class will explore cubist artist such as Picasso and Braque. Students will create their very own cubist work of art in clay while learning basic techniques of using slabs to create 3/D form. Students will learn basic and intermediate techniques of slab application, handbuilding, texture application, and glass fusion into clay.
