Be a Civil War Soldier: Kid’s Camp - Mansfield, LA
Have you ever wanted to be a Civil War soldier? Are you between 8-12 years old? Mansfield State Historic Site is hosting an “immersive” event that will allow you to experience what many of the soldiers of the American Civil War did. Be enlisted, set up your camp, drill, enjoy a period type lunch, and more! There are 16 slots available for this program and pre-registration is required. Registration is $25 (paid on day of program) for each child, which includes the meal. The last day for Pre-Registration is April 8th. Summer Weekend Camping Trip - North Atlanta Christians - Catawa Falls
Summer Camping Trip! Come join is for the annnual weekend of fun in the woods! Catawa Falls Campground offers great streamside tent camping sites, cabins and fantastic waterfalls to explore. We will be hiking and exploring the area around that Campground. We will be 25minutes from Asheville, NC The cost will be roughly $10.00 per person per day of tent camping. The sites we will secure are right off the river! We will have a nearby pavillion to grill and cook. There are MANY cabins to choose from, the cabins have electricity but no running water. All showers will be at the bath house in the middlefo the campground. Those that want to paticipate in getting a cabin please let me know and we can firgure out the cost per person. Campfires every night! Get your marshmellows ready! THIS IS A KID FRIENDLY EVENT!! Kids will have plenty to do with creeks to wade through and a playground nearby. 4th - 9th grades - Drama Camp - Saint Marys School
Come enjoy a week of theatrical experiences including: playwriting, costume design, the actors process, and even performance! Students will work collaboratively to create a short play which will be performed at the end of the week. They will use both imagination and research to inform their artistic choices in everything from design work to acting. Additionally, students will explore improvisational theatre in both long and short forms as a means to stimulating the playwriting process and deepening their acting skills. Students with and without theatre backgrounds are invited to come explore, learn, and play! Rachel Wright is a passionate theatre educator who seeks to help her students grow their understanding and compassion for the world, life, and humanity through the magnificent practice of theatre. She has a BS in Theatre Arts Education from Appalachian State University. After college she moved to New York to pursue a career in theatre. She was accepted by Circle in the Square Theatre Conservatory Program where she concentrated on her craft. Upon graduating she began performing in countless off and off-off broadway productions. Bounce Back non-profit leverages the game of basketball to provide renewed hope to young people who are de aling with (or have overcome) difficult life challenges. The Skills and Drills clinic was designed by former NBA Players, David Wingate (founder of Bounce Back) and Micheal Britt (Britt-Quinn Enterprise). It is their flagship program. The skills and drills clinics combines a mentorship component with motivational talks along with clinics teaching ball handling, rebounding, defense and shooting. The clinics are taught by legendary players of their time (both former pro NBA and semi-pro players).
