Invention Convention - Winter Session - Adams Elementary
Held in Computer Lab. Using Lego Mindstorms robots, Terraformers software, Circuitry, Solar Kits, Keva Planks, Rocketry, Technology and do-it-yourself projects, our curriculum challenges kids to design and construct 3-D innovations individually and as a team. This is a full year STEAM program (science, technology, engineering, art, math) with all new lessons for fall, winter and spring sessions that do not repeat. Design a star wars robot and Mars Rover, program an adventure in space, construct a solar robot, test out circuitry, build a castle, bridge or dragon…and lots, lots more! Students acquire a basic knowledge of geometry, physics, technology, programming, circuitry, energy, sculpture, art and design. In addition to logical thinking, our program stimulates students thinking in a different way to generate innovations from their own imagination and discover their creative talent. Capital Ultimate Camp - Tilden Woods Local Park
Ages 10-15: Capital Ultimate Frisbee Camp is a fun alternative for kids who want an active camp but are tired of the same old sports. Ultimate Frisbee is a fast growing, fast paced game that combines skills used in sports like soccer, football and basketball. campers totally newto Frisbee will learn the fundamentals: catching, throwing backhand, forehand, etc. More experienced players will sharpen and extend those skills, plus learn defensive skills, field positioning and more. Every Camper gets a disc, a microfiber athletic shirt, and a CUC hat. We provide a daily snack but campers bring their own lunch. The camp site has changes as of Feb. 11, 2016; camp will be held at Tilden Woods Local Park. Age Range: 7 and up Description: Young authors and artists will have fun writing, illustrating and creating their very own story book! Through the beautiful art of watercolors combined with watercolor pencils, children will express their creative ideas to write their own story, design their own characters and paint backgrounds to illustrate their very own storybook! Session 1H - Voyagers - Camp Butano Creek
This is a two-session program: spend the first session experiencing intensive training activities with your peers. This session includes: discovering your leadership potential; enhancing your skills in group dynamics and communication; understanding the delivery of camp programs and operations; and traditional camp activities including a special outing. Voyagers go home on July 16th to rest up and return on either July 21st (2nd session) or August 4th (3rd session) as an Apprentice Counselor, joining our camp staff during pre-camp for final camp training and preparations. In your assigned unit, put your new knowledge and skills to work as an Apprentice Counselor. Voyager registration is not complete until the following has been completed and returned: camper registration; Voyager application and questionnaire; and three references. Final placement is subject to evaluation by Voyager staff. Spaces are LIMITED, sign up early! Preference will be given to Voyagers entering 12th grade. If there are openings after March 1, those entering 11th grade will be considered. Plus Package also includes a hooded, pullover sweatshirt and a handy postage-paid stationery/pen set for ease in writing home. 925 216-4146
