Fundamentals will be learned, lessons will be earned, and calories will be burned. We need all the support we can get. Join us for a special event just for teens out at Camp Sealth! In this special Amazing Race Edition, teens will embark on a two-day race around Camp Sealth facing challenges in their small team units. Choose a team name and create a team cheer to let others know you’ve got the spirit! Activities will include classic camp favorites with an “amazing” twist – archery, crafts, challenge course activities, relay races, skits, sports, trivia, and more! In the evening, your team will check in for a pit stop featuring a relaxing evening of tasty dinner and treats, games, and feature presentations, and awake on Sunday for a final team challenge before heading home.

Weeks 5-8 PM: 420 Racing Program (Session 2) - NESS
Come learn what it takes to be successful in fleet and team racing (the fun and challenging form of sailing as a team sport). Our experienced race coaches will challenge students to perfect their boat handling techniques, with the skipper and crew developing and refining coordination and mutual reliance. Students will work on improving and refining their boat-handling skills and developing together as a two-person team. Students will be challenged to perfect their upwind and downwind sailing techniques and will learn to better use hiking straps, tiller extensions, and sail controls and will develop their spinnaker and trapeze skills. Students will expand their knowledge of wind, weather, and tides, and will work on basic racing techniques and rules. Students will be encouraged to compete in the many local 420 regattas that we tow boats to by water. All students will be under the supervision of our race coaches in class and at local regattas. In addition to fleet racing, coaches will teach the techniques, tactics and rules of team racing through practice drills and a practice-race format. This course will serve as an introductory course that covers topics such as physical geology, historical geology, oceanography, meteorology, and astronomy. The fundamental goal of this class will be to relate the interaction of the earth sciences to the physical world. 773-881-6700
Java Game Programming - The Digital Arts Experience
This program is geared towards students who are beginners or have limited knowledge in Java programming. An intro course that is a great start for older and younger students to begin programming. Students will begin to look at Java programming and creating their own games. These games can be an original idea or a re-imagining of a classic. This course will lay the foundation for all parts of computer programming that a student will encounter later in their education.
