The Recreation Department is once again offering one-week day camps that will be held at Lessenger Elementary (30150 Campbell). Campers are asked to wear sneakers/tennis shoes (no sandals, flip-flops or open toe shoes) each day and to bring their own sack lunch (including beverages) unless otherwise noted. Registration fee includes all trips, camp t-shirt, craft and supplies and snacks. For $10 drop your child off at 7:30 am or pick your child up at 4:30 pm, both options for only $20! Since 1995, Wilderness Awareness Schools Summer Camps for ages 4 – 18 have cultivated young peoples understanding and appreciation of nature, community and self. Through exploration, adventure, and creative play, students work together in small groups gaining knowledge of plants, mammals, tracking, birds and survival skills. Students learn how to build video games and animations using MITs Scratch Platform. Together, with global partners, students and teachers from a developing country, students take turns learning about each other. Students will play and hack each others games, and share animations. Outdoor Explorers Camp is a Cascade Mountain School day program that introduces students to the fun and excitement of outdoor adventures in the Trout Lake Valley. Students will get to explore an underground cave, build forts out of natural materials, hike to a secret natural spring and more. The entire camp will be spent outside! Parents are welcome to join in on the exploring! Day camps for ages 9-12 will be held Monday through Thursday from 1-4 pm each day.
