Emergency Vet - Advanced - Highland Park Presbyterian Church
This camp covers a broad range of topics including an extensive survey of animal anatomy featuring a comprehensive rat dissection, which includes neutering and suturing. Campers will spend a considerable time using the microscope as they study a variety of bacteria and parasite that prey on our favorite pets. This camp is for 10 year olds and older. Campers must have already taken our Camp Emergency Vet first. Sample Topics: Rat neutering, Suturing, using a hypodermic needle, Bacteria and Parasites, Broken Bones, Dissection, Blood Smears and the Microscope. 214-530-5979

Learn a new skill and develop a new hobby this summer! Each camper will have the opportunity to work with a variety of tools and materials and every boy will be provided personal guidance while working on two to three individual projects during this special one-week tutorial session. A variety of wood project ideas and wood species will be offered. Possible projects may include constructing a bookshelf, birdhouse, wooden clock, jigsaw puzzle and carving a bowl or candleholder on a wood lathe. Woodworking experience is not required, only a desire to learn new skills. This specialty camp came into being at the request of campers and parents and has limited enrollment available for instructional purposes. We have envisioned this workshop to have the following goals: 1. To provide a hands-on course that initiates the learning of a new skill during the summer and the development of a lifelong hobby. 2. To learn basic carpentry skills and the proper use of a variety of tools. 3. To encourage pride in ones work and craftsmanship through projects that a boy wants to take home. Riders will be given challenges whether they have never ridden a horse at all, or have some experience. Campers will ride once during the day with a qualified riding instructor. Other activities may include a horse-themed craft, a sensory trail hike, or a horse- themed activity with a horse such as ground work, braiding their mane, or giving them a pony pedicure! An afternoon snack will be provided. Horse Camp for a Day is offered on five days of Spring Break and on occasional days off from St. Marys County Public Schools. PM Extended Care and Drop-In Extended Care is available. Riding will be cancelled and an alternate activity provided if weather conditions make the arena unsafe.
