Adaptive Recreation - Summer Camp - Ellen Hopkins Elementary
This program provides a unique experience for participants with varying skill levels to participate in recreation and socialization. A wide variety of fun activities including swimming, bowling, golf, organized games, special events, and arts and crafts. This program offers a 5 to 1 participant-staff ratio. Personal Care Attendants are encouraged to participate with any youth needing one-on-one attention. Any participant attending summer school has the opportunity to be dropped off by the school bus at the program location. Please indicate you would like this service when you enroll for camp. Teen Adventure Camp - Sequoia Highlands
Teen Adventure Camp starts at 9 a.m. on June 27 at Sequoia Highlands, which is a large camp built around 1970. There is a large kitchen and dining room and a big recreation room with pool tables, pingpong and darts as well as other activities. The accommodations are in long dorms with army cot bunks, one dorm for girls, one for boys. The view of the valley is spectacular, and the charm of this camp is that it is rustic, has lots of room and is close to Kings Canyon National Park. We take trips on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to lakes, rivers, caves and mountains up in the parks, hiking & swimming & exploring the area. We will also learn about the ecology of the area and how climate change is affecting the Parks and the central valley. While at camp we will tie-dye our camp shirts, create our own videos, fish if the pond is full, and simply hang out and enjoy each others company. Campfires are planned for the evenings after dinner. Climbing Camp - Beginner - Breckenridge Recreation Center
Calling all climbing kids! Come out for an amazing week of climbing and having fun. Learn basic techniques in knots, belaying, and climbing movement. The final day of each camp is outdoors, climbing on real rock here in Summit County, returning to the Recreation Center by 1:00pm. No camp on Wednesdays. Four-day camps are offered in three sessions running June 6-August 5. If youve already attended a Beginner Climbing Camp, check out our Intermediate Climbing Camp to pick up where you left off last summer to keep the climbing going! Upon successful completion, climbers may move to our Intermediate Climbing Camp. Suggested personal equipment for outdoor climbing day: Comfortable shoes for approach, water bottle, snack, wind/rain jacket, extra layers, sunscreen/lip balm, hat and camera. Make it a full-day, full-week camp! Campers attending morning climbing, sports, outdoor and preschool camps may attend BMC [] in the afternoon for half-price and/or attend the Wednesday field trips.
