Planet earth is an amazing place full of fascinating creatures! Students will explore the land, sky & ocean while creating art depicting some of their favorite creatures & landscapes. Dont be surprised when you see elephants, giraffes, horses & a Picasso inspired rooster appear during the week. Animals from all over the world will be drawn, painted & created from clay in this camp designed for animal lovers! Please bring to camp: Large shoe or boot box for fired clay pieces (write name on box), old shirt to wear during camp. Each day: Drink & snack to enjoy during 15 minute break About our Summer Camp! Campers will experience 3 hours of creative opportunities each day. They will learn & practice basic art skills such as drawing with pencil, markers, charcoal, oil & chalk pastels. Kids learn about safety first, equipment, horses and riding in our soft-sand enclosed and covered round pen. What better way to finish off the winter break than by being outside with friends and siblings, learning a new skill, having fun, and gaining in self-confidence? All classes taught by Eric Clarke, natural horseman clinician with 35+ years experience as a professional trainer of horses and their people, assisted by several of his horsemanship apprentices. Class size is limited. All equipment and horses provided, except for boots (with a bit of a heel please; no sneakers) and helmets (no bicycle helmets). Camp is half-days, 9 AM - 12 noon. The PLAY group is for 4- 7 year old children needing social interaction. Come work on sensory exploration and floor play with a specialist in learning differences. Kids will enjoy interacting with one another, music, and game activities. This class is designed for young children who are newly diagnosed, introverted, or simply needing to practice basic interactive social skills to foster appropriate play. 713-461-7200
Summer Camp @ La Pintoresca Group C (11-12) - City of Pasadena
This is a 6 week camp that will run from June 27-August 5 from 8-6 pm. (Excluding 4th of July) This traditional camp is high-quality, fun and affordable. Activities include arts and crafts, physical fitness games and challenges, dance, visits to the onsite library at La Pintoresca Park and swimming. Campers play basketball, soccer, volleyball and softball. Instruction is also offered in golf and tennis. Campers are escorted to Robinson Park Recreation Centers swimming pool for recreational swim two times per week. Staff go into the water with the campers and certified lifeguards are always present. Fun field trips are often the highlight of the week. Trips are an additional charge and are scheduled for once a week. This camp is a good fit for active campers who like sports and group activities. The ratio of staff to campers is 1 to 10. Campers are grouped by age, and lunch and a snack are provided. Camp culminates in the annual War Games in which Washington Park Camp and La Pintoresca Park Camps compete in a series of challenges to determine an annual camp champion.
