Youth Development Summer Camp Car and Truck Show - Concord, NC
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office, Youth and Development Division, will be hosting a Car & Truck Show on Saturday, April 16, 2016 with all the proceeds going to benefit the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office Youth Development Summer Camp. The Youth Development Summer Camp provides At Risk Youth in Cabarrus County with a week-long camp experience. This year, we will be expanding our summer camp experience to include three, 1 week sessions that will impact over 120 At Risk Youth in Cabarrus County. During a typical week of summer camp, At Risk Youth interact with police officers in a positive learning environment. Some of the camp activities include bowling, fishing, mini golf, swimming, along with trips to the zoo and local movie theaters to name a few. Interlaced within these activities are structured lessons which teach about the dangers of bullying, internet safety, gun safety, peer pressure, and drug abuse. In today’s society, now more than ever, we need positive role models for our youth. The School Resource Officers of the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office are effective, positive, motivational, role models for these At Risk Youth. PLEASE COME OUT ON APRIL 16TH AND SUPPORT THIS WORTHY CAUSE.

Whitetail Resort's Kid's Adventure Camps - Mercersburg, PA
This day camp for children ages 7-12 offers an opportunity to experience many outdoor activities throughout the day. Campers arrive each morning ready to get outside and expand their horizons. They start the day with a game of kickball or a snack of fruit before heading to their first session. Each camper is placed with a group of peers to experience these adventure based programs. From navigating the resort with a compass to paddling kayaks on the reservoir, they are certain to work up an appetite. A healthy lunch is provided at our Tubing Lodge for their mid-day break before resuming activities in the afternoon. After lunch, it’s back to the woods for an archery lesson or to build wilderness huts. Sports Camp week 5- Basketball (ages 5-12) - Orchard Park Recreation
During the first hour of basketball camp, children will focus on the fundamental skills necessary to excel in the sport including dribbling, passing (chest passes, bounce passes, and overhead passes), shooting (jump shots and full shots), and man to man defense. Agility and hand eye coordination will also be emphasized. During the second hour, children will be able to eat a healthy snack and then participate in a series of cooperative games that will enhance their capabilities of being a good teammate and showing good sportsmanship. The third hour of basketball camp will focus on the basic rules such as traveling, double dribble, charging and blocking, as well as the duties of each position. Additionally modified games of basketball and cooperative games such as knock out, PIG, around the world and 21 will be played during the last hour. As the skills of each child advances, the third hour will consist of more realistic game like situations and a mini tournament based upon age group. Equipment will be provided. New This Year! Shubert Summer Theater and Arts Camp - Shubert Summer Theater and Arts Camp
The Shubert Summer Theater & Arts Camp is a program for rising middle-school students (5th-8th grade as of fall 2016) who want to explore interests, potential, and opportunities in the arts. The camp offers students a chance to take in-depth classes in dance, music, theater, visual arts, and creative writing while in an arts rich environment. The camp is open to both New Haven and non-New Haven residents. Located at adjacent Cooperative Arts & Humanities High School, the Shubert Summer Theater & Arts Camp is situated in the heart of downtown New Haven, surrounded by theaters, galleries, and museums. In addition to an arts atmosphere, the camp is staffed by a combination of professional artists, teaching artists, and emerging student teaching assistants from Cooperative Arts & Humanities High School. Campers may either sign up for the Theater & Arts Camp, which allows them choose classes in music, theater, creative writing, dance and visual arts, or sign up for the Musical Theater Camp , which offers a curriculum of singing, acting, and theater-related activities.
