LATEST CAMPS NEWS: 4th - 9th grades- Tennis Camp for Intermediate Players - Saint Marys School
This camp is a week long session where players are expected to have previous tennis experience. The players will be grouped by skill level and will be given the opportunity to improve their skills in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. The daily schedule will consist of match play, drills, competitive games, individual time with the coaches, footwork training, strategic thinking, and pool time. Players will work on the following: groundstrokes, volleys, overheads, serves, singles and doubles play. Each day Players will learn new techniques and different ways to approach their opponent in a match. Players will be faced with constant challenges in a way that will only increase their passion for tennis. This camp will help further develop the players skills, giving them the confidence to continue playing tennis. Hannah Jones, a member of the Saint Marys School class of 2016, will be leading this summers Tennis Academy. She has been playing tennis since she was a young girl and has a passion for this sport. Hannah has been on the SMS Varsity tennis team for three years and is also involved with many extracurricular activities in and outside of school. Let's get our Oakland youth to Camp Common Ground Oakland! - Oakland,
Thank you so much for supporting Camp Common Ground's effort to get our youth leaders in Oakland to camp! Your attendance and participation at the launch of our second fundraiser will be imperative to ensuring that our youth from diverse racial and economic backgrounds can stand together this summer to break down barriers that exist between their communities. Come hungry and ready to drink, and don't forget your laptops, smartphones, tablets, etc. that we will use to get the word out about the fundraiser to all of our networks! What's the impact we will make in one day? The fundraiser will last for the entire month of March. During last month's fundraiser, Camp Common Ground supporters exceeded the fundraising goal of $4800. The $5400 raised will bring 4 Oakland youth to camp. During this fundraiser, we will raise $13,200, which will bring 16 more Oakland youth to camp--6 more on full scholarships and 10 on partial scholarships. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Python Process with Kim Howard Johnson - iO Theater
Howard has just returned from spending most of November on the road with John Cleese (including a stop at the iO), and is anxious to present the his own insights into the Monty Python writing process, and how it can work for you. This eight-week workshop will immerse participants in the Python creative process, and by the end of the eighth session, participants will have completed, polished sketches which can be presented on stage and/or filmed as a sketch show or revue. 312-929-2401

Staff will pick up campers from your car at 8:00 AM and deliver back to your car at 4:00 PM. This is an intense week of training designed specifically for premier level or high school age players preparing for the fall competitive season. In addition to daily soccer training, players will also participate in activities designed to improve soccer-specific fitness, including coordination, agility, core stability and strengthening, and speed endurance. (2016 SOP SCHEDULE BELOW) AKASPORTs Speed of Play: Leadership through Fitness Program, is led by AKA Director, Chris Schulz and the AKA professional training Staff. Participants enrolled in the AKA Speed of Play (SOP program), in partnership with the AKA All Sports Camp (ages 6-12), will offer adolescents an opportunity to be active, train and play in an All Sports setting geared to teach them leadership qualities with personal mentorship opportunities. The base of the Speed of Play program is from 9:00am-4:00pm and the doors are open for all Speed of Play participants from 7:00am-6:00pm, the same hours of the AKA All Sports Camp so you can take advantage of supervised activity time the entire day.
